If you guys think E10 gas is bad, try running E85!
my work just ran E85 dispenser to see how it would react to a new pump. Pretty crazy stuff thats for sure.

Yeah, if you save $3 per fill up every month, by the end of the year you could save like $36!!! Totally worth waiting in line for 30 minutes!

Well that's why he's asking.

If you only fill up once a month, kudos to you.

Well the only reason I'm being so nitpicky now is because I've started playing rollerhockey up in north van, and I don't live anywhere near north van... so my gas drains fast. I'm practically filling up once a week now...

I only need 87 octane for my Mazda3 though... so I don't think Husky's higher octane for cheaper price is gonna benefit me... so I guess I'll stick to Petro.

Same.
I try not to fill up at Husky, but then it doesn't 'really' matter to me that much.

That and the employees will beat the cars with complete disregard since its not theirs. They'll just sell them as "executive demo's" later on

I just fill with whatever cuz a car's a car and I don't give a crap as long as it meets the minimum octane and doesn't knock.

Chevron has the best additives to keep your engine clean.

If you've seen a bent valve due to carbon build up, and know how much a head job is, you'll understand why its worth it to put these additives into your car.

So your telling me that BC has the lowest rate of bent valves in Canada because the rest of Canada does not have Chevron gas?

You can assume any stupidity you want, read about the various additives and make a decision for yourself. I switched from Esso/PetroCan (terrible additives) to Chevron when I came out here. Chevron's Techron is awesome stuff.

I remember back in the day shell had a contact with chevron in burnaby and purchased their gas from them and just added their additives... But that contact is over and shell now gets their gas in pipelines from alberta... One thing i noticed with shell (my mom is the only one in my family to buy shell becuase of the airmiles) in my moms 94 bmw, is that its a ficken boat now... Seems like it lost soo much power... I swear my new 09 corolla could beat this thing... I always have this feeling there is some gay sludge build up in the carb which is causing it to loose HP.. But i'm no mechanic, but based on that I find shell to be crap gas... I dont feel any HP loss when using chevron.. Plus the bmw has been babied.. So I concluded that its the gas thats teh problem..

exactly..
the ethanol boosts the octane for cheap
but ethanol produces less energy when burned than gasoline so you can't get as far on a tank

"A gallon of ethanol contains far less energy than a gallon of gasoline. In fact, because of its lower energy density (a gallon of regular gasoline contains about 114,000 Btu, while a gallon of E85 contains only 82,000 Btu) a gallon of E85 should cost no more than 72% what a gallon of gasoline costs to deliver an equal amount of energy."
