^^^although I prefer the 4 cyl for the RAV4 it's actually a 3.5 and is really good on gas considering the power, size, and weight of the car, It's one of the most fuel efficient V6s out there

any thoughts about the Nissan Rogue???

Then again, I hate that suv a lot because it's so noisy and slugggish.

hm.. Rav4 is probably your best bet right now since it's going to be your dad's car.

i have recently read up on the rav4 4wd and it seems like the car wont go into 4wd unless the front wheels start to slip then the 4wd will start to kick in so most of the time its 2wd unless i manually push a button for 4wd going below 40km/h

seems like a neat feature

the new rav4 looks nicer than the crv. If the van is still running, you can donate it to the kidney foundation and get a tax receipt

I would say Rav4 > CRV for the current model however it would be the other way around in the previous ones

so still didnt get the car yet since my dad has second thoughts about the rav4 and the swing back trunk that if he ever carried wood or other long items it wouldn't work

been looking at the forester PZEV and it looks good for the price

also been looking at the hyundai tucson GL V6 4WD but not sure about hyundai's reliablity

and the nissan rogue SL AWD

any idea how much bargining room there is for these companies??

Forester PZEV is one of the few actually green cars out there
I really like it

As for the tucson, i had a sportage for a courtesy car once, which i think is a similar car? and it really sucked, felt like it'd fall apart, the santa fe is a much nicer car

Nissan rogue is good value for the money too, but if CVT isn't ur thing... and the styling may not be right for some

ah-hahaha, I know how parents think.

as for talking down the price, Toyota still has their lame "access pricing" system which means no discounts. but maybe they will discount some cars in this bad economy.

I've driven both.. the CRV feels like a little mini-van, and the RAV4 feels like a little SUV.

^ That's what sales in the deal want you to believe. ppl buying Toyota usually look at nothing else and pay for whatever asked for.

While you can get a few grands off from Lexus, why not Toyota?

Here is quoted directly from Toyota website as from thread mentioned.
