The shiro was nice, had a couple friends check it out in person, but it just wasn't all it was cracked up to be...

needed a LOT of TLC... but could have been a great car.

right had another 3000-4000 been put into it, probably would've been perfect. But then lots of ppl are scared to touch shiros and mess with them because they're somewhat collectible

I wonder if you can get collector plates on a Shiro yet? since its a low production model? no idea

that's another thing. wholesale cars are sold off for cheap. what dealer would really wanna put money into a 1988 vehicle?

actually, you can. there was a guy selling one for 30k+ and it had low low mileage + collectors' on it.

Update: so yup the car was going to be sold off to wholesale, you were right jing!

I want to know what this means for me. Because what I paid for the vehicle was way above market value, Morrey E-mailed me back and said the car was originally being sold for 10k, but no one responded to that price so they made it 7k and when i walked in it was being sold for 6k. I paid 5800 before taxes for it.

They said they won't do anything for us after the BBB complaint so too bad :(

So if a car is sold as is. Does the dealer's powertrain warranty not apply?

if your looking for aftermarket parts stick with z-tune

they are local and the best for nissan and infiniti

most of them have 300zx's and skylines and all are heavily modded and installed by themselves

they know what to do
check out there website z-tune.ca (dont put the hyphen when typing there website, i only put that there cause for some reason it shows a $$$$ sign)

we also have a nissan/infiniti forum that you could check out

niclub.ca

i still think 5800 for a Z31 is really really steep.....

LOL but that was a bit harsh, considering this is probably his 1st car and it most likely has an "n" on the back

Paint jobs are not cheap. Unless you mean, that the paint job on the car was crappy.

There is a bright side though; you get to work on your car and add aftermarket parts. Better to learn this lesson early on you life at 6k than later at a higher cost.

GL with your repairs/build. PS. I would splurge for decent aftermarket suspension set up. Save up as long as you can as it will be worth it.

ilvtofu 07-12-2009 06:37 PM

^it has an L on the back LAWLZ!!!

Yeah i meant it was a cheap paint job,

I'm actually not mad at morrey nissan, i was just seeing if i could squeeze anything out of it.

Since i need to replace a single rear shock absorber $100? with installation?
I might as well lower/ replace suspension for 6-800? lol,

Tempting but no money right now.
Theres not really anything the car needs right now, i replaced the most annoying thing which was the exhaust.

Just as a complete side story to this, in regards to buying pre-owned from a dealership and encountering problems:

I bought my 01 Altima from Freeway Mazda last year, checked it out, everything seemed good, got a few car savvy people to take a look at it as well. Couldn't find anything wrong. They didn't offer any warranty on it, but verbally said if I found anything wrong when I took it home, to let them know.

Well sure enough, two days later the car was making brutal sounds from the rear brakes, I took it back, complained a bit, and they ended up replacing the entire rear brake system, they showed me the bill and it was about $600 in parts and labor. And they didn't charge me a cent. Also replaced a few interior pieces as well for me on the house.

I guess the problem arises from buying an "as is" car though. Otherwise you have some leeway because the good dealerships don't want a bad reputation.

ilvtofu 07-13-2009 03:54 PM

^especially if you go back in 2 days, I think there's a law saying that if you have a complaint with your product within the first week they have to do their best to fix it or something.

But yeah AS IS sucks balls...
