Apparently Kovalchuk is being offered a $52m, 3-year contract by a team in the KHL. $14m a year.
To put that into perspective, we pay less than $14m for Kesler, Burrows, Samuelsson and Erhoff next year.
$14m would also bag you Duncan Keith and Jonathan Toews.
If he takes it, I propose we henceforth refer to Kovalchuk as the "$14,000,000 Baller". He won't have to eat at Church's Chicken ever again.
