			Why not give the puck away to take advantage of a 5 on 3? Not much time left in the first penalty and waiting for the 6th attacker would have been too late. Oh well, they scored on the powerplay anyway.

Sure youll have a 5on3, but its not guaranteed that you'll retain possession after the next whistle.
