How is Volchenkov with injuries? I would assume based on the amount of shots he blocks he might not be as reliable injury-wise.

He's going to fetch a lot of money.

volchenkov has never played a full season. everyone complains about salo getting injured all the time, volchenkov could possibly go the same route.

Salo plays like a girl and has no physical presence on the ice.

Volchenkov is a russian that plays like a rugged canadian defenseman. He has the most blocked shots over the past 4-5 seasons. The player that is second on that list has about 120 fewer blocked shots than him.

He's like Mitchell + Johnson merged into one player.

i wasn't comparing his play to Salo, i know he is a better defensive d by far.

i was comparing the fact that they are both injury prone, and i really doubt gillis is going to throw 5m to a guy who's going to miss 15~ games a season. that being said, some GM definitely will.

if salo wasn't prone to injuries, he'd be worth a lot more. he makes our team much better offensively and defensively
