quick question, why did Gillis recall Schneider?

it's probably just to let him practice with the team. manitoba was just eliminated from their playoffs.

recall schneider ? which one, the goalie or the asshole ?

any article ?

hotjoint 04-28-2010 07:21 AM

goalie

Nothing unexpected about recalling Schneider or other prospects. All teams do this once their minor league teams are done for the playoffs. It's really to give the prospects the change to experience the NHL playoff atmosphere and to see first hand the hard work it takes daily. It's almost like a reward, they travel with the team on the road too.

They are also called up to fill out the "Black Aces" squad, to practice with the guys that don't dress regularly like Hordi, Glass, etc... to keep them in sharp game shape so if there are any injuries, they don't have to step in completely cold.

murd0c 04-28-2010 07:32 AM

They do that so he will still at least get practice time so if one of the tenders get hurt. Most teams do that during the playoffs to cover there ass.

If you are refering to the defenseman he was traded to PHX during the trade deadline and now elimintated by DET haha.

Too bad Schroeder can't play with the team. It be nice to see him play a couple of games in the playoffs.

AzNightmare 04-28-2010 08:47 AM

Awesome for being optimistic, but if Canucks wins this, it's gonna be in 7 games.
They aren't gonna take it home in 5.

xxxrsxxx 04-28-2010 09:10 AM

Announced on team 1040, campbell is back and Byfuglien will play as forward.

Yeah VAN vs CHI is gonna be a tough series. Whoever wins, it will be in 6-7. Hopefully it's the Canucks!

I'm going to say No. Gillis mentioned yesterday anyone signed after the trade deadline is ineligible to play in the Playoffs. Which is why Schroeder can't play.

I always thought Connauton was Canucks property already and we asked him to play in the WHL. Oh well.

That's correct. Probably just going to bring them into practices, to home games etc to get some experience with the playoffs.

Good signing either way, looking forward to next seasons training camp!

I know, that was the point. The writer broke down offence, defence, goalie, coach etc.... and he gave the Hawks the edge in net and said defense was even.

Anyone signed or traded for after the trade deadline are not eligible to participate in the playoffs. The trade deadline isn't really a trade deadline, but more like a playoff roster eligibility deadline. And yes trades are allowed after the deadline and during playoffs, its happened before.

AzNightmare 04-28-2010 10:58 AM

I'm pretty sure Hawks have better Defense, but we have better goalie by far.
that's just retarded to underrate Lu that much.

1exotic 04-28-2010 11:01 AM

Canucks will win this series in 6 games at home.

The Vancouver Canucks will face the Detroit Red Wings in the conference finals.

ahhh okay you added the blue faces haha

Ch28 04-28-2010 11:25 AM

Connauton's a pretty decent prospect so I'm happy with the signing.

7seven 04-28-2010 11:31 AM

haha our VFX guys on Supernatural are working on a scene that takes place in Chicago, they added a bunch of newspapers flying around, the headline on the papers Canucks sweep Hawks.

quasi 04-28-2010 11:39 AM

So if Montreal wins tonight do we play Friday? They'll be the 4:00 game on Saturday and Chicago game will probably start at 5:00.
