Some bullshit fight between a group of 9-10 Natives (yes...) started in front of my house at 1AM Saturday morning. Had no idea why it even started. I'm in Surrey, so it was basically yelling, attempted fist throwing and as usual, ends with someone spraying a can of fucking bear mace. No one was even on the ground.

Exactly what happened that night.

I'm EI myself, and just love all the EI's that come to kelowna to club and pick fights with all the ppl here. "Surrey Jacks" they call themselves.

I've been in a club standing by a table with a drink in my hand and had a guy walk by me bump be and say "watch where your fucking going" only to stare at him with confusion......and him replying..."are you fucking being cocky, get that smirk off your face before I smash you." (uneducated).......it's really a shame.....

im not gonna lie im a smaller guy with a pretty big ego, i dont go looking for trouble, but i never shy away from it, and when ive been on the sauce it can take very very little to set me off. i havent been in a real fight since highschool tho, everyone ive encountered since didnt wanna kick my ass bad enough to go for it i guess (id almost certainly lose hahaha)

why that is ill never know, nice parents, good upbringing and all that jazz, grew up in a nice nieghborhood in a small town and never relaly got into trouble

A lot of it has to do with MTV Culture.

That culture alone shaped the kids of the 80's, 90's, 00's. The problem is some people take a whole lot longer than others to outgrow this phase.

From my experience i can pin point a few things that most fights start over

- Envy / jealousy - Someone thinking they deserve what someone else has. Example: Your with a hot girl, walk by a group of guys and they think that that girl will notice them if they try and start shit with you.

-Low self-esteem - Someone whos confidence requires them to put other people below them to feel whole. Generally they will take anything badly, even jokes and want to fight over trivial things.

-Posturing - This is the catagory that could tie in with race/culture. Having to show your better then people with, material things, or thing that don't really matter. I Find this also ties into the group dynamic. People are always the cockyiest when they are in big groups. Then all the bravado comes out and they want to show off. When they are by themselves they are the people that will talk shit when your out of ear shot.

They're life losers.

Edit: I don't think it has ANYTHING to do with recent culture versus previous. When has there NOT been fights and this type of shit?
