it wouldn't be hard to survive for 4 days at the bottom of a well, not like he had to take the heat from the sun or the cold from the wind. if he survived 4 days in the woods, that will be a different story.
fall down a step of stairs when you're 80 and post back on RS.
To be honest, I would rather be stuck in the woods for 4 days than be in a bottom of a well.
The psychological stress of limited space and darkness would kill me.

how'd he fall into that well w/out getting injured?
Did it even mention how deep the well was?
Anyways, maybe it wasn't very deep... but even if it was, maybe because the well was so small and that he barely fit into it, he just slowly slid down instead of free falling...
