It's going to be a very long and ugly legal fight for MJ's estate and rights to his name and music. I would estimate the rights to his name and music catalogue alone is well worth over a billion dollars after his debts. I just hope his kids get majority of it.

Joe Jackson is a fuckign dirtbag shitty ass father. Did anyone see his little interview during the BET awards? He didn't even looked hurt or anything, he even tried to change the subject to help promote his own upcoming record label. What a piece of shit.

What a fucking cunt but only good news is he's 80 so he doesn't have much time to profit of his sons death.

Showbiz may have killed him but he placed himself in debt with his overly extravagant lifestyle. I mean this guy didn't only own his very own theme park, but took cosmetic surgery to a whole new level, practically almost to total body reconstruction. All that just for the sake of vanity.
Seriously, it's so hard to feel sympathy when a person already had unimaginable resources available to only 1 man out of the 6 billion populous in the whole world and he still can't manage to live within his means. |
Well whatever is left after the debtors are paid is what I was thinking. He owns a huge music catalog which is probably worth more than the $400 million he owes.
Hard to feel sympathy for him? You know he owns the Guiness World Record for "Most Charities Supported by a Pop Star". The man gave back to society and has donated plenty of money to people all around the world.
Here's a list of the charities he has supported: http://www.allmichaeljackson.com/charities.html |

Yup, its no wonder why the entire world is grieving MJ's lose and there isn't one person who actual knew MJ on a personal level that has said one bad thing about him. All of them have said he loved people, donated millions and wanted to heal the world’s pain through his music and dance.
Edit:
And back to cosmetic comment earlier; Deepak Chopra, who knew MJ for 20 years, was on Anderson Cooper last night and he explained how MJ was insecure about himself which was in part to do with a bad childhood and how in later years he couldn't handle his skin disorder and the way he looked which according to Deepak was a mental condition that made him mutilate himself with all the cosmetic work over the years.

Everyone says he looks really weird due to all the cosmetic surgery. But I think the biggest factor is his skin disease.
Imagine any famous black celebrity with WHITE skin colour. A white Jay-Z or a white Michael Jordan. How WEIRD would they look?

Skin disease wouldn't drastically alter your facial features though.

Regardless. I have my right to disbelieve just as you have every right to believe his claims. Nonetheless, my point still stands: | about the hair... http://www.vancouversun.com/entertai...879/story.html
after he got badly burned from that pepsi commercial accident, his hair never really grew back and he's been wearing those awful wigs ever since (as told by Stuart Backerman).

It only get better... Quote:
Report claims Michael Jackson is not the biological father of his children
Michael Jackson did not father any of his children, and his ex-wife Debbie Rowe is not the biological mother of the two children they had together, an exclusive report on the website TMZ.com claims.
The website says that “multiple sources deeply connected to the birth” have confirmed that Jackson was not the sperm donor for any of his three children, all of which were conceived outside of the womb, in vitro. These same sources also claim that the Rowe, Jackson's wife at the time, was only a surrogate, and that her eggs were not used.
The report also claims that documents exist that can confirm the birth arrangements of all three of Jackson's children.
The custody of Jackson's children and the management of their estate is already a contentious issue that could be complicated by the confirmation of TMZ.com's report. Yesterday Jackson's 79-year-old mother Katherine won temporary custody of the kids and has made moves to control his estate.
Jackson's father Joe is currently separated from Katherine, but said of the children, "We're going to take care of them and give them the education they should have."
Joe Jackson has also made headlines in recent days for conversations with the media about his new record label, Ranch Records. The king of pop's father attended the BET Awards on Sunday, and responded to questions about the emotional state of his family by introducing his business partner, Marshall Thompson, saying, “Marshall and I we own a record company called Ranch Records.”
When later questioned about why he brought up the business venture at that particular moment, Joe responded, “I was asked a question last night about the record company . . . what I’m doing is I established a record company with Marshall and the company is called Ranch Records … so we have a lot of good artists fixing to come out.”

Remember Sisqo (Thong Song)? He has Vitiligo (the Michael Jackson skin disease) and it's effects were compounded by stress.

Why didn't he just liquidate that asset then to satisfy his debtors? Then he wouldn't have been obligated to have done his final tour that killed him. IIRC, wasn't he trying to sell Neverland Ranch and much of his own memorabilia.
Anyways, am I wrong but I thought that when you default on your debt, it can give the debtors the option to sieze your assets to satisfy the debt. I thought that's how it "generally" works.

MJ's net worth was around $250 million; only $700,000 was cash when he died. His assets were worth over $500 million and he had a debt of just over $300 million. He could have easily wiped his debt off by selling his assets but he didn't want too. I also heard he owned the rights to a few other artists including Eminem's real slim shady album.

i'm reading elsewhere that this supposed will MJ has is said to have returned the rights back to mccartney, because MJ was unhappy about their falling out over the sale. we'll have to see. http://www.snopes.com/music/artists/jackson.asp |

Michael is better off dead, no one wanted to see him grow old including himself. I have always felt some pity for him, he never had a chance to live life or even grow up with the burdens of his fame & family. To only try to fathom what he went through in his time here is mind boggling.
I think R.I.P could never be more appropriate than for MJ
This is my favorite performance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ane6VJGlIMs
