| Intel SU2700 is a low voltage single core CPU. You will not be able to upgrade your CPU to regular/popular TXXXX or PXXXX.
Get something like T4200, so you can upgrade to T9500 or something better few years later. http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=40479,42004,

Would always choose Dell over Acer only because of Dell's amazing customer service.
Their customer support is superb. Acer was garbage but are starting to pave their way as a respectable manufacturer especially since getting into the netbook craze.

I still have an Acer Ferrari 4002 thats nearly 5yrs old and it still runs awesome. the only problem i have with it is finally one of the internal fans died so I cant use it to play games anymore till I get that fan fixed. but back in the day I used it to play wow and raid 40 man MC and BWL and play wow on it for hours and hours and not have any cooling problem or overheating issue. too bad Acer doesnt put out anymore Ferrari's cuz they put in the best cooling system in it, the rubberized surface kept the body looking mint and the Carbon fibre lid helps with the weight. also I almost never used the battery and it still can go for 3.5hrs when i need it. My Asus M50SV is heavier and battery only lasts 1.5hrs but it is nearly 2yrs old now too i guess.
personally i'm still sketchy about Dell stuff. I do know they have a big ass call center in SM Mall of Asia one of the biggest malls on the planet.

From what I've seen, upgrading the internals are quite easy as long as the case allows you access. Most laptops you can upgrade the RAM with ease, and the same with HDs. You can also swap CPUs and GPUs (a little less common overall). Of course vendors disapprove of it, and void your warranty, but for some brands like HP, there are no seals on the CPU heatsink, so upgrading the CPU will be a breeze.
The main thing is to not damage anything when taking the laptop apart, and being able to replace it with stock parts if you ever do need to send it in.

Acer is garbage owned both aspire and lamborghini line notebooks.
-BOTH had the defective ribbon cable to LCD problem (renders notebooks useless)
The Aspire cameback with the little pin that turns off the backlight when you close the lid BROKEN OFF (wtf they would not take responsibility)
-Both had extreme chassis flex
-the aspire had extreme heatproblems like 80+ gpu temps on a 7600 IDLE. which caused the motherboard to die a month after the ribbon cable was fixed.
-acer was an extreme pain in the ass to deal with, they made me use fedex and then pay for the extras like tracking signature etc ($45 each time) avoid acer at all costs!!!!!
dell, hp, asus all have better customer service and quality.

HP had great customer service in that when my wifi was broken, which was a known error, they quickly confirmed I was covered by the recall/warranty extension on this, and sent me a box to send it in without any charge to me. this was the end of me enjoying their service. when they sent the laptop back, they made it so that it had to be signed for, which was fine, except they chose a shipping company that was terrible (UPS I think). Since they kept trying to drop it off when I wasn't home (11AM on a weekday, who is gonna be home?) I had to drive a half hour out of town to the warehouse, to get my laptop back, and then drive a half hour back home. THEN when I got it out of the box, I notice whoever repaired my laptop didn't put it back together right, as the speaker cover had a big gap at one end where it was supposed to sit flush. So I had to take my laptop half apart to snap it back into place, then put it back together. My harddrive seemed a little slower but I didn't think anything of it til I flipped my laptop over one day to take the battery out, and saw a little sticker on my HDD through the vent. I pop the cover off and see a small piece of metal sticking out of the plastic which covers the pins connecting the HDD to the mobo. I pull it back and lo and behold the guy had broken one of the pins off my HDD, which is fine as they just pop in, but he replaced it with one that was too big, so when you dropped the HDD back in, it swiveled up instead of going into place, I had to take the drive out and put it back in place then force it into it's slot as I put the HDD back in.
All in all VERY unimpressed with the quality of the work done by their repair staff, if I ever have to call them again I'm gonna do my best to make them just send me the parts rather than let these clowns touch my laptop again.
