Telus Internet slowing down

I'm not sure what's going on, but my download speed has taken a sudden drop in the last day or so. Yesterday it was going at a normal speed of about 160-170kbps, and as of right now is capped at 25-30kbps. Ran the Speedtest multiple times, and I get the same results, download/upload speeds capped at 30kbps. For some reason, browsing webpages has only taken a very slight speed loss. Also, if it factors in anything, my ping in CS has gone up to 130 from 95 to a server in Texas.

Anyone else on Telus having the massive slowdown as well?

At times but not common. I just told the CSR to upgrade me to 6.0 yesterday since 1.5-6.0 is in the same package now. So 3.0 to a 6.0 upgrade for free. At first i was going at 170ish for the whole night(which is slower than my normal speed at 330KBs) but this morning when i checked I was going at around 650KBs.

But to answer your question, yes Telus has had it's fair share slow downs recently. It's not like Shaw isn't :/

Well, I decided to call their tech support...to no avail. They told me to do the arbitrary BS they tell everyone to do. I even did the online chat thing, BS there too...appparently my DL speed is right for what service I have, which is also BS because I've had the same package run at 170 for the last 6 months so I dont understand this change. I wasnt even contacted about this so now im SoL.

Telus fails.

just to let you know, you are supposed to call in for the upgrade to 6.0 max.

http://www.telus.com/portalWeb/appma...gh_speed_index

telus has stopped offering 1.5 since years ago, and customers who were on the 1.5 needed to call in to get upgrade to 3.0. this was last year. now 3.0 is extinct as well, and customers need to call in again to get the upgrade. you may need a new modem as well.

i suggest you call back and ask for the upgrade. just mention something like "i'm paying $40 a month and i am on the old plan. i like to be paying $35 now for this faster 6.0 plan"

go to dslreports.com's telus forum for more help.

I'm paying 25 bucks a month now after I complained many months ago on why I'm still paying 40 bucks LOL. I saved so much money.
