Yup, the game online is pretty slow..but i like it..

The only thing I don't like is how often the goalie goes down due to 1 timers or just even passes..i think it happend every single pass against someone but good thing he kept missing the net lol

I've only played club games and I did notice that its a bit slower at the moment but that's cause I got low stats at the moment and I don't want to cheap out and buy the unlockable boosts ... but in some games we play against some top teams they are frickin fast ...

I'm having fun with this game as usual but I haven't played a ton. I think I've played about 20 online games mainly ranked games with random players. I play club games with my friends when there on. I did buck up and buy upgrades for my guy, I have the Stick, Gloves, Skates and helmet all unlocked with 3 slots each and every slot is full +5 stats......

For a good player it might be helpful but for someone who sucks at this game like I do it really doesn't help that much.

The amount of rebounds on this game is ridiculous too.. Just throw it on net and a rebound tip should be available.. You pretty much need to have a D ready to take it out...

Good game still.

I guess everyone just wants to play NHL 09 lol.

The only thing I find a bit annoying is the after whistle scrums. Kind of unrealistic when the whole team goes at it.

It delays the game to much IMO. I wish you could turn it off.

that kind of annoys me, but doesnt bother me too much...

like i like the fact of being able to scrum after a whistle...but when i go after one of their good players, with my shitty player...the whole team gets involved..then everyone one is pushing and one of my top players gets penalized when i wasnt even using him as a character in the initial pushfest i had going...

Slap-passes are pretty easy to score with, did them twice on like four tries last night, ahaha.

I don't like the fight challenge for 2 reasons

1)when u challenge a guy to a fight while the play is going on, you get an automatic roughing/unsportsmanlike penalty. Why???? in NHL players skate by each other and trash talk all the time there doesn't have to be a penalty unless you do it too much.

So if you get challenge, just don't fight and back you got yourself a pp.

Pretty much the only safe time to challenge is between whistles.

2) I don't like how you can do it to anyone, ie. a guy on a breakaway...BAM. he stops because the guy challenged him

I was playnig my friend and he challenged one of my d as I was breaking out. I got myself on a clearcut breakaway and somehow a fight starts. I was thinking "WTF?!", I didn't even press triangle. There's no reason I would want to fight if I'm on a breakaway.

They should just make the goalies harder.. I mean..most of the guys i've played with so far just goes to the side.. then skate towards the goalie...sure goal..

don't get me wrong, the game is good but these stuff is just annoying.. I know it's a game and ppl want to win.. but what about just making the game hard online, so atleast that way, everyone wins fairly.

I think I'll be sticking to Be A GM for now...

haha yea I've done a couple of those already. I'm sure they can make all these changes, but someone will find another sure way to score eventually. And then everyone will complain about that one.

here's an idea...how about they make it impossible to score, so all you guys can stop whining?

If somebody keeps doing the same move on you, then you have nobody to blame but yourself. Adapt your defensive strategy. Everybody has a different style of offense, and they will obviously stick to what works. When i play online, i play to win....not to make the opponent happy by not scoring. If my opponent is giving me a paved lane through the front of net, I will damn well take it.

Here are some examples of the whiners I experience online:
- When i score a slap shop from the point, it's called a "cheese goal"
- When i score a wrap-around, it's called an "exploit"
- When i cycle and pass out front for a one-timer, it's called a "exploiting one-timersl"
- When i score on a breakaway, it's called "camping"
the list goes on and is never ending...nobody likes being scored against, but whining about it isn't going to stop them from scoring on you.

If you keep letting your opponent skate across the crease, then there are serious issues with your defense. If you keep letting your opponent nail one-timers from one side of the net to the other, then your defense has issues. If you let somebody constantly score wrap-arounds, then your defense has issues.

Over half the people i play against always chase the puck, and that's where they get in trouble. Watch a real NHL game...it's all about positional defense...you rarely see a D-man rush the guy with the puck the moment they cross the blue line. Stick to the passing lanes and try to read the play.

if you don't understand what i'm trying to say in my post, then congratulations...you're an official punching bag for the better players to pad their stats.

Wow.. thank you. Best comment on this thread.
Learn to defend the plays... or better yet. Score the same goal on them.
You can stop allot of goals.. simply reading the passing lane.

One time in NHL 09 I played a guy who kept trying to curve-shot or wrap-around glitch goal me ALL GAME LONG.

He was so predictable so I stopped him each and every time he tried it and owned him 5-2.

He then sends me a message telling me that I'm a cheap ass and to stop spamming the poke check button.

LOL.

Couldn't agree more. There is no such thing as a "glitch goal" ie : point skates in one direction & shoot other??? AKA moving goalie from side to side to pick a corner/pocket. Makes me sick, and every person who says its a glitch goal or some lame excuse like that doesnt understand the first thing about hockey to begin with.

Great comment & keep up the good work ea. game is great! love it!

ps: all the people who thing glitch goals, rot like hell and next time i wanna hear your replies is when I herd you're being put 6ft deep.

carky out

Dude. the curve shot and wrap around ARE glitch goals. Even the EA producers admitted it.

When you can score with the same move 10/10 tries, it's a glitch goal, something the developers did not intend on.

You wanna talk about understanding hockey. Do you think you can do that exact same move 10/10 in real life??

Didn't think so.

Now I'm not backing up the people who whine and call EVERYTHING a glitch goal but I am backing the fact there they do exist, and a lot of people like to exploit the fuck out of them.

wrap around goal may be a glitch but you can defend it easily, noone to blame but yourself if you keep getting scored on. Glad they took out the damn curve shot, that shit was annoying.

as stated before, if its a glitch, there are ways to prevented by playing a more defensive style.
