I would like to have one in the fridge, then reheat it for 10 minutes

The other types is where you are actually eating the shark fin like a bowl of noodle....there is a big difference in texture and ppl can definitely tell if you are not using real shark fin. Soup they use in this is a lot thinner too. And of course it costs a lot more.
Not a fan of shark-fin, but then how it it really different from everything else we slaughter and eat?
- Chicken get their beaks cut off live
- Pigs raise in overcrowded facilities, being breed for the sole purpose to be slaughtered and never seeing daylight in their entire life.
- Lobster and seafood suffer weeks of hell during transportation before they are then boiled alive.
- Fishes are skinned and gutted alive (try imagine someone doing that to you)
- We waste thousands acre of lands and energy to raise small quantity of meat - lands and energy that could've been used to feed 10x more people by growing basic crops.

I'm the furthest thing you'll from from a PETA fuck face, but sometimes people (usually Asians for some reason) go too far when it comes to atrocious treatment of animals.

to each of their own i guess...

so let me get this straight. asians (chinese, japansese, korean etc etc.) are taking the fins of an endangered species just for the fins. which have no taste or anything. just for texture? LOL. wow thats fucked up!

^ i believe there are health benefits, just dont have time to google it up.
What i find even more cruel, is the type of sharks fin soup, where each person gets a bowl, and it has the whole fin intact in each bowl. Its the size of your hand , so they probably killed 1 young shark per bowl.
Whereas normally a huge sharks fin can be used to make many many big bowls for parties.

Honestly, after watching this documentary I have stopped eating shark fin soup. But my parents are too traditional so they still eat it, but only at partys where they have to show face so they eat it so they won't disrespect the host. But otherwise, my parents don't eat it anymore because I've educated them. | yeh,,, i think it'd do good if they translate it into CHINESE. and show it to people here in canada.

Like.....rabbit palm in soup....
or....deep fried pigeon wing of freedom....

I dunno if I'm wierd, but I like fake shark fin soup better than real shark fin soup. I suspect it's the MSG overload.

Whereas normally a huge sharks fin can be used to make many many big bowls for parties. | Yeah, this is brutal.
You know what's also bad? Wings nights. Assuming the best case scenario (each chicken gives you 2 wings and 2 drumsticks), when you stuff your face and eat 32, that's still 8 chickens PER PERSON.
One of the main reasons why I'm a big fan of beef. Way less death per pound of food.
And yeah, most people can't actually taste the shark fin itself. You couple probably replace half of it with gelatin and not know the difference. And yes, it's crazy cruel. (I'm Asian too)

Comparing chicken, pork, cattle, etc, all which are grown by humans for food, with sharks, which are wild predators and an important part of the eco system, is pretty fucking stupid!

Reminds me of this discovery show:
some veteran shark enthusiast trying to show how sharks never take interest in human, then suddenly a shark took a bite on him and he almost lost his leg and life. All on camera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGk83ovkzeI
Anyway, the show seems more like a make-up sensational movies more than an accurate documentary.
