I cant imagine how you pulled that one off man, when I got in my car this morning to drive to work, my thermo said 27 degrees

In Asia it's humid hot, the air just feels so dense..and the smog makes it worse. but everyone has AC so it's okay. Thing is after you're indoor for too long, it can get really cold..so when that happens just step outside that first 5 min would feel so good lol. Then after that you start sweating again haha. To make things worse, everyone has AC turned on and pumping out MORE hot air into the atmosphere.

It's funny cause in TW i saw commercials where the had these ice scarves (scarf + icepack)..should've bought one.

Here, even with the heat you'll get some wind, but without AC it can get icky.

4ft of snow, 30+ degrees consistently, crazy storms..

Imagine what it'll be like 5 years from now..

Or this could just be an anomaly <sp?>. The world has been around for an awful long time. I'm sure there were times where the temps fluctuated wildly. We humans have not been around that long and on top of that have not been recording data for that long in the greater scheme of things.

Ice Age? I wAnder what caused that........... perhaps the dinosaurs weren't thinking green.

Global warming / climate change is just an excuse for scientists to get more funding and messing with politicians.

the other side of this argument is that...

what we have measured so far shows a change aka climate change. which I think makes perfect sense, nothing can stay the same, things are constantly changing.

i think global WARMING is totally wrong, and that phrase shouldnt be used anymore.

of course you're right, in the greater scheme of things maybe this is just a little bump in the road.

I'mma use this pickup line "Hey babe, I got A/C back at my place, Wanna come inside and join me?". BHAHAHA Best pickup line during this summer. No one steal it!

E=mc˛ 07-30-2009 02:35 PM

yeah I was just checking the temp and relative humidity and the RH is always 50 or below.
It's unbearable yes, but when I was in LA or Philly visiting family, the RH was always 80-90%.

I'm still glad we don't have that here

In India no one wears shorts, everyone wears pants and half sleeve shirts. It could be 40+ and you won't see any guys wearing shorts or women wearing skirts.

i dont get it, if they aren't at work, day off and in public, what's so bad about shorts?

these days, i wont even put on a shirt if im outside and im fat

ilvtofu 07-30-2009 03:53 PM

Doesn't it stink big time in india though? They obviously don't mind the heat too...

Too much russell peters..

cunninglinguist 07-30-2009 05:28 PM

It does stink but that’s a given when you have that many people and most don’t have running water or toilets.

The worst smell in India has to be in Mumbai, it stinks like human shit because of massive open sewers in the slums but the thing about Mumbai is its very humid and the temp never goes below 25c at night or goes over 30c during the day year around so the air just sits and smell never goes away. It gets even worst when the monsoon rolls in.

And almost every Asian city has a smell, it's hard to explain what the smell is but order something directly from China and you'll get a good idea about the smell I'm talking about but 10x stronger.

I think it's more of a culture thing. People like to look formal when they go out and most of the lower caste or poor people in India wear what look like shorts and t-shirts.

Psykopathik 07-30-2009 07:31 PM

BeeBeeAhn 07-30-2009 08:05 PM

I'm getting stuck to everything I touch. i got stuck on the wall at work today. I leaned against it for about 30 seconds. I also got stuck to my seat on the skytrain. I'm gonna end up ripping off skin soon. =[

Gt-R R34 07-30-2009 08:05 PM

from the house to the car in a suit was bad, in the car and at work, it's okay.

Once work ended, i was in shorts t-shirt and sandals. Now my suit needs to be dry cleaned. lol.

rslater 07-30-2009 08:06 PM

So you guys thought this was hot right? What did it hit 33 degrees roughly in the city. Well at my work, which is a glass studio, inside it hit 49 degrees. Hotter than just about any US city at any time.

If I had known better, I would have brought loose-fitting linen pants. It wasn't until I got back to Vancouver that I was able to get out the stench of sweat from my jeans.

And yet, Euro dudes love their speedo's. Thank god they only wear them at the beach, but talk about one extreme to the other! From a suit to a banana hammock! :lol

Actually my room is cooling down with just a fan. There was a nice breeze around 10ish.
