Wow thats kind of ridculous, considering you can get flights to HK for like ~$1K.

I only collect aeroplan cause I travel for work and fly AC.

this is slightly false information, i have taken two flights to tokyo in the past 7 months on my aeroplan points, with free bumps to business class b/c im elite status. i paid no more than 370$ in surcharges and taxes per flight.

man im always like 3-5 flights short of Elite Status each year
