BMW 335i or Lexus is350

Im planning to get a new car and i need some advice from you guys on which one is better and why? I have done some research and tested both of them. The lexus inside is more comfortable inside and the bmw feels better while driving.

much better car, better power, handling

the lexus is a nice car to have but when beside a 335i the bimmer is the sure choice

if you want comfort - IS350.

If you want performance - 335i

it's that simple. you get both from each, just more from 1 side from each car.
Everyone here would pick Bimmer because of the way it drives.

124Y 07-25-2009 11:13 PM

Definitely the 335i. The IS350 is a nice car already, but it just doesn't handle like the 335i. The excitement of driving the 335i is incredible compared to the IS350.

shawn79 07-25-2009 11:20 PM

i would pick bimmer too but lexus for the comfort resell value and repair/maintaince. I was looking at the black book on value of cars 5 yrs ago (2004)
bmw resell value 3-series vs lexus resell value (is300) lexus car has higher value than bmw by quite a bit. Also the jdpower listed lexus higher than bmw all the time

Philly74 07-25-2009 11:20 PM

after all the test drive on both cars the real question would be what are you looking for? fun or luxury? family trips or fast short trips

shawn79 07-25-2009 11:27 PM

fun luxury for fast short trips :D

Razr 07-25-2009 11:47 PM

if you plan to keep it for a long time - i.e. not lease, then go for the lexus the bimmer is fun and all until you have to pay the repair bills for every glitch that it will invariably have down the road

orange7 07-26-2009 12:11 AM

both are good cars. Get whichever one you can get a better deal on.

didn't bmw offer 8g off the 335i at one point?
I haven't heard of any deal for the is350, but that doesn't mean there isn't any.

your # 1 concern is repair and all that

IS350, seriously both car can't go wrong but if you want to address your concerns,

wouldn't that take precedent?

Marco911 07-26-2009 12:46 AM

BMWs are great until they are about 4 yrs old, then start falling apart.

Lexii are reliable but worthless after 4 yrs.

Pick your poison.

greendb7 07-26-2009 01:57 AM

I'd definately go 335I, mostly because of every reason stated so far

boatcaptain 07-26-2009 01:59 AM

are u plannin to mod the car??not much ppl mod is350 so i think is pretty good to see one nice looking is350,there is tons of modded n chipped 335i on the street so u mite get itchy n go crazi wif hps n smokin m3 n m5 lol

Jackygor 07-26-2009 02:42 AM

335i for sure

StylinRed 07-26-2009 04:12 AM

i'd say you should be happy with either of them.... just test drive them or sit in them to see which one you would like more; each has their +/- so test em out :)

Dinan3 07-26-2009 06:22 AM

The 335d is very nice too.

bradcc1 07-26-2009 08:16 AM

it might be difficult to get your hands on a IS350 though. I visited Richmond Lexus last month and was told that there's currently no IS350 in canada except the white demo car that has been abused by 1 million other people. You'll need to place an order and prepare to wait for 2 months.. BMW will knock 8k off the MSRP, while I doubt there is any room for negotiation on the IS350.. so you'll end up paying more for the Lexus

the interior is much much much nicer in the IS, however the BMW gives you better feedback through the steering. After test driving them back to back, I feel that they're equally fast.

as someone said above:
lease -> 335
keep it for longer than 4 years -> IS350

azn_boix 07-26-2009 08:28 AM

335i for sure!

love the feeling when i drive it
