well really, im free to live anywhere...but my fiancee works out by UBC...so she would like a shorter drive, but really, in the end, she doesnt mind anything that is on the west side of the portman bridge.

and i know walnut grove has a lot of nice, relatively new townhouses - 3 bed/2bath for like 260K-290,000+...which id like to find closer to the gvrd core.

obviously the closer i get the the higher the price...but really im probably gonna start capping out at 350K...i dont wanna be drowning in a mortage payments...and i still wanna be able to travel and occasionally buy a new part for my car/truck fetish and set aside stuff for the kids(which i dont have, but in the future) and other investments.
in that case there's lots of condos townhouses by brentwood mall near the gilmore skytrain area that's pretty good.

Insanely over-priced though! for a little bit more $ ($50k), you can get a 3-5yr old 3 level (whistler-village inspired) townhouses up in Herritage Mtn along David Ave (this street connects Port Moody and Coquitlam)..

There is a community bus that takes you to the Port Moody West Coast Express station (if you work in downtown M-F during office hours) every 15 min during peak hours..

I would have bought a place there, if I didn't relocate to Kelowna for my job..

^If the extra $50k + property taxes is a concern, then find an international student (homestay?) student to rent the basement..

Richmond - Steveston and Westwind school area. Personally believe the Westwind school area is the safest and most pleasurable to have your kids grow up as well as the houses are all nice and lush with flowers, trees etc etc. Area also has curvelinear streets which I find rare and far more attractive than grid like patterns.

South Surrey - Morgan creek and surrounding area which as more affordable homes close the highway so its only 15 minutes from Richmond, 20 to Vancouver.
