Not looking good. How to beat a team that scores on every possession........
Two turnovers already. Oh well. I just hope it doesn't turn into an embarrassing loss.

Montreal's front four is solid. AC takes credit for all the offence, but he is given a lot of time to throw to a receiving corp that is second to none. Their defence is doing alright, too.
I can't see the Lions making any kind of comeback. Even if they score on every possession.
Stranger things have happened. Perhaps a few key Montreal injuries might give them a chance.

They should have the mercy rule at half time, the Lions are done. If it's any consulation the Shithawks are playing worse.

The Lions don't deserve to be in this game. I can't believe they didn't get at least 3 points on the turnover just before the end of the first half. They could have gotten 7 points. Chances like that don't come up often. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I hope AC gets the all time record for touchdowns in a single playoff game. He's tied with half a dozen other QB's at 5 TD's. It's really not that hard to do when you're playing such a weaksauce team like this year's Lions.
Damn, Duval just misses the 3 pointer. I was thinking a 50+ point score for Montreal. If htey wanted to, I'm sure they could have put up 60 points on the scoreboard. I guess that would be too much of an insult to the other team. I guess no sense in risking injury. They need to save themselves for upcoming games.

Two OT's and the Detroit Lions won the game on the last play after the Browns picked the ball off in the endzone but took a pass interference penalty on a hailmary pass with no time left on the clock. Can't end on a penalty so Det got one last crack at it from the one yardline down by 6 and won the game.

WOW great ending to a game ... that nobody prolly watched.
actually as bad as the detroit lions AND browns are this year... they could've easily killed the BC lions today ... playing cfl rules at that.
well next year is promising, as long as we overhaul our defense!
canucks 100% of the time now!

- Larger field (width and length) and larger end zones
- 20 second play clock
- The single point
- Two men allowed in motion before the ball is in play
- No 'fair catch' meaning the receiving team after a kickoff must make play with the ball
One game is not necessarily better or more high-calibre than the other. But players in the NFL, even though they might be more skilled, are not always able to make the transition to the CFL and vice versa.

One game is not necessarily better or more high-calibre than the other. But players in the NFL, even though they might be more skilled, are not always able to make the transition to the CFL and vice versa. | Obviously I know that there are differences between the two games... and I would even accept that some NFL players may not possibly transition to the CFL very well... but NFL is not more high-calibre than the CFL? You've got to be kidding me. Nevermind the fact that it always seems like most CFL players would jump at the chance at playing in the NFL, the average salary of a CFL player is like less than $100k, whereas the average salary of an NFL player is closer to $800k.
I mean, that's like saying the Swedish Elite League for hockey is not lower calibre than the NHL just because they play on a bigger rink and may have a few different rules.

Higher pay doesn't necessarily mean it's a higher-caliber game, or even higher-caliber players. All it REALLY means is that they have better marketing, thus bigger sponsors, thus more money to throw around. Yes, more money means they're able to attract better players... doesn't mean the GAME is any better, or that ALL the players are necessarily better. There's a lot more cult-of-personality as well; many players make more because they themselves are marketed more.
I mean, look at soccer - look at what LA pays Beckham to play there (very rarely). Is he REALLY that much better than everyone else in the MLS? No. It's the name they're paying for, and the draw that it brings.

No, higher pay doesn't GUARANTEE higher calibre, but it's a pretty safe correlation to make. Quote:

| Once again, it's not guaranteed that the GAME with higher calibre players is better than a game with lower calibre players, but once again, it is pretty safe to believe it should be. Are ALL the players in the NFL better than ALL the players in the CFL? Probably not. But I wouldn't be surprised if ALMOST all are. I mean, seriously... how many players in the CFL would choose not to play in the NFL if they had the choice? Quote:

| Sure... but you still have to have the skill to back it up, at least to a certain degree. All the marketing in the world isn't going to keep you in the NFL if you can't cut the mustard on the field. Quote:
I mean, look at soccer - look at what LA pays Beckham to play there (very rarely). Is he REALLY that much better than everyone else in the MLS? No. It's the name they're paying for, and the draw that it brings.
| This is a special case, definitely not the norm. 99% of the players in the NFL are being paid for what they bring to the field, not because of their fan appeal.
Look, the bottom line is this... even though CFL and NFL are not identical games, the core is still the same. I think it's ridiculous to even dispute that the overall skill level in the NFL is not miles ahead of the CFL.
In general, CFL is a league that players not good enough for the NFL play in. In this way, I think it is similar to the AHL compared to the NHL.
