Pho Challange; San Francisco - Enormous bowl of Pho free if eaten in 1 hour

Mods - I know this should be in Food, but its not in Vancouver so I figured it'd be better off here. Plus the higher traffic would do it justice.

Anyways. So I'm quite a Pho addict, and my friends in San Francisco sent me this site - if you're able to eat this enormous bowl of Pho in 1 hour, its free. If not, its $22.

pandalove 08-07-2009 10:53 PM

PSH thats just warm up for me

JayF 08-07-2009 11:06 PM

Anyone know if they have this or any other challenges here in Vancouver?

pandalove 08-07-2009 11:08 PM

it better come with spring roll

Dinan3 08-07-2009 11:13 PM

it's not bad if you don't have to finish the soup.

achiam 08-07-2009 11:18 PM

I agree. I'd do a practice run at home first, but I think its definitely doable. The key is to practice - Takeru Kobayashi and the other competition eaters practice by eating massive meals followed by starvation of a day or two followed by another massive meal - this stretching and starvation causes the intestinal walls to become much more elastic to accommodate larger volumes of food. I once ate two large bowls at one sitting years ago, so I'm quite confident I could finish quite a bit if not all of this.

J____ 08-07-2009 11:20 PM

i can eat that no problem if i dont have to down the soup. otherwise i can do it but it'll take more than 2 hours to compeltely drain the soup as well

Amuse 08-07-2009 11:28 PM

I can do it in 1 hour. Soup too. Too bad there isn't this thing in Vancouver

Ikkaku 08-07-2009 11:41 PM
