...and that's why the speed limit is there... because some people just can't handle a car no matter how good a driver they think they may be.

InvisibleSoul 08-10-2009 11:00 PM

It's the only time I can do a burnout with my Yaris. :haha:

CivicTypeRice 08-10-2009 11:02 PM

My tires were done four months ago, Im too cheap to buy new ones.

mx555 08-10-2009 11:09 PM

bald, semi-hardened a032r's seemed fine today.

!Aznboi128 08-10-2009 11:17 PM

I don't understand what your problem is. why are you shifting pass 5k? is gas cheaper on your world?

you need to learn to drive normally take matters in your own hands and stop endangering others on the road.

When theres rain, you slow down, when theres snow you go even slower. It's common sense if you don't have any then stay off the road.

My car and I had a good time today

Shun Izaki 08-11-2009 05:37 AM

I drove with Eagle GS-D3's that were on 2 years too long... much past the wear bar, and cracked in 100's of places... no probs...

this rainfall, i have fairly new Direzza DZ101's... and i have to say, im impressed by the GS-D3's wet performance, factoring in the "newness" of the DZ101.

oh well... sucks to be people who dunno how to drive... fuck you crappy drivers of Vancouver :P

ilvtofu 08-11-2009 07:26 AM

lol traction control on, oh damn don't have it, lol but seriously theres no problem, i'm on SPTs and they're perfectly fine, no one's asking me to be DK here...

taylor192 08-11-2009 09:43 AM

Yesterday was a little slippery. My problem are the roads where the trucks have dug ruts, so my 265s don't make full contact in the rut, and the slippery roads are made even worse.

q0192837465 08-11-2009 11:33 AM

wtf? I never get this slippery thing. I dun feel the road being any different than say 2 weeks ago.

wat the fucking hell

turning 90 degree turn at 30km, semi accelerating thru the corners and i was going 45 degree sideway, was like WTF man

coming home off work, jesus the roads are fucking slippery. I was mad slipping till 3rd gear

even off the line at 2000rpm first gear i have no traction all the way up to 5000rpm till 3rd gear...cant accelerate shit, had to use 2nd gear to start.

piss me off

and this is with decent performance all season with about 90% tread left. Before it rained it was never this slippery, today is just absolutely a nightmare to drive

FUCKING HELL!!!

whats the point of shifting past 5k anyway on this kind of weather? not to mention accelerating thru corners?

lol u should just admit that ur trying to slide on purpose cuz that sure as hell doesnt sound like normal driving to me

Mugen EvOlutioN 08-11-2009 02:33 PM

im just impatient tats all

:)

Klutch 08-11-2009 08:21 PM

my dads sienna has some insanee wheel hop when accelerating from like 30km/h....i love it

Do you know that wheel hop is a sign of bad bushing, ball joints, or loose suspension components?

It's usually a sign of FWD. ;D

When traction is poor, wheel hop can happen pretty easily on FWD regardless of the age/condition of the vehicle. The largish engines in minivans these days tend to have enough torque to break front traction on throttle alone when it's slippery.

Hot Karl 08-11-2009 11:48 PM

wait, you mean a large amount of RS'ers can't drive a fucking lick?

SHOCKING!

Decent all-seasons too (BF Goodrich Traction T/A), just that a 940 kg car with only half of that over the rear wheels doesn't provide a lot of traction.

I did a 180 in similar conditions several months back at that little mini-Laguna-Seca corkscrew at Sea Island going onto the Arthur Lang bridge.

Lol! I spun out at the same place a few years back

Have you ever done a burnout? smoked the tires? laid patches of rubber?
If not, go to a dealership and get a brand new FWD car and do a burnout, let me know if it wheel hops.

Yes you can cause the wheels to spin in a minivan, yet they shouldn't hop. Wheel hop means your suspension cannot keep the tires to the payment, so either the minivan has a shitty suspension (possible) or the suspension is worn and needs replacement (more likely).

Think about this: if you have wheel hop on hard acceleration, what's going to happen under hard braking?

ilvtofu 08-12-2009 09:15 AM

Hehe i have a shitty suspension and my car wheel hops violently in the wet,

No, no and no. Not large intentional ones anyways. Inadvertent tire spin, yes. Inadvertent wheel hop, yes. Wheel hop in competition, yes. I have launched aggressively in FWD in a new (my!) car in low traction conditions and have had wheel hop.

Agree with the bold, except for the paYment part ;). Wheel hop is another way of breaking traction.

However, weight transfer plays a role too. During the recent rainfall, I hopped my front tires on a start up a medium-sized hill. The car has less than 50k on it and most would think it doesn't have a "shitty" suspension (it's a mazda fwiw).

I'm not sure where you're going with this. Under acceleration in a FWD car, weight is transferred to the rear which is in part why FWD sucks for performance driving (reduced front traction).

Under braking in any car, weight is transferred to the front.

Friendly reminder to stay at home because of the rain today
your life is at risk facing many dangerous drivers out there
A car couldnt stop in time and he spun into intersection of hasting & clark

46_valentinor 08-13-2009 06:14 PM

haha damn dunlop starspecs ftw!! i couldn't tell any difference in traction and was taking corners pretty quick too! =D

I get massive wheelhop in the rain with my RWD

im too cheap to get new LCA and a relocation kit

i have shitty suspension
