watched it on a dvdscr download, just not the same as in theatres, good thing I did see it in theatres.

Think the official DVD will have 3d glasses or something to enhance the quality of the movie?

oh btw, found this on 4chan, this is a combination of too much time + too much skill lol

Avatar?

Has anyone else around here NOT seen Avatar yet? I was supposed to see it about a month ago, but went out of town, and have never really bothered to see it because I'm expecting a dissapointment from all the hype it's recieved.

How are the lineups for Digital (NOT IMAX) 3D nowadays?

CP.AR 02-27-2010 12:06 AM

saw it about a week ago. I'm surprised at how well done the character development is. Despite having several "co" protagonists and antagonists, they are still so well developed!

JL9000 02-28-2010 06:12 PM

Are people still lining up for IMAX?

art-gallery 02-28-2010 08:00 PM

movie was good, but a bit too long

jmvdesign 03-02-2010 10:59 AM

Avatar on IMAX ends this week (cineplex newsletter).

Volvoman 03-02-2010 02:31 PM

WTF I hope not....unless they just miss being in 5-hour Olympic line-ups. :(

A Vancouver man filed a copyright infringement lawsuit Monday against Avatar director James Cameron, his company and movie studio 20th Century Fox.

The lawsuit was filed by Emil Malak, 57, who owns the Bellagio Café on Hornby Street near Robson.

“I’m not accusing James Cameron of theft. He’s a genius,” Emil Malak said in an interview at his café in downtown Vancouver, across from the Vancouver Art Gallery.

But he claims there are many unexplained similarities between his sci-fi screenplay, Terra Incognita, first conceived in 1996, and Cameron’s Avatar.

I thought Avatar would stay in IMAX a little longer but I guess they're making way for Alice in Wonderland.

Soundy 03-08-2010 10:02 PM

What, 19,234 days isn't long enough??

nabs 03-08-2010 10:02 PM

still haven't seen this flick.

Soundy 03-09-2010 05:26 AM

^You should see it at least once in 3D - every other 3D movie so far has had some level of gimmicky "Ooo, look, we're in 3D, look what we can do in 3D" shit... this one doesn't.

I haven't seen it yet either, but plan on watching it next week. Hopefully it'll still be in theatres.

so anybody know if the bluray will be in 3d? watched it in theatre but this is a must have to fire up once in a while at house parties

Tegra_Devil 03-12-2010 02:55 PM

JUST HEARD ON MUCH MUSIC

Avatar is to be released back into theatres with 10-12 more minutes of footage. in IMAX 3D and other 3D formats.

supposedly they were making such good money, but alice in wonderland kicked them out of IMAX theatres, they want to re-release it again to continue making a profit.

well at least in that article that they said they were releasing a Bluray 3D disk....

anyone know how 3d is gonna look on our big screen tvs?

or is everyone gonna have to buy new bluray 3d players and tvs?

clowe 03-13-2010 10:36 AM

^ Not sure, but for other 3D movies, they came with two pairs of 3d paper glasses.
