Wow, I used to do that. Straight out with just enough force. :haha::haha::haha:

I think the trick is to keep your weight on one leg(left) while keeping weight on your one arm (right). Alternate between the 2 to move up but keep your extra arm+leg off the ladder to prevent extra pressure to one side.

It's been years since I've been at the PNE.. such good memories working there as a kid. If the carnies has the bike where you ride across the line, the trick to that one is to ride it as if you were to fall on purpose.

Most games aren't worth it to play, esp the knocking of the 3 milk bottle. That one's dependant on how the operator sets up. If its not perfect, you'll never win.

It may have been covered already in this thread, but the one with lifting the coke bottle with the fishing rod.. that one involves lifting it slowly, then pushing the rod forward and down. You want to keep the tension in the line even at all times. If its not tight, the bottle falls over. If you master it, you can do it almost all the time... unfortunately it takes a lotta practice to train the muscle memory..

yupp. I've done it.

Always left leg+right hand, right leg+left hand.
When you're switching, be sure to switch both leg and hand at the same time. Naturally you'll want to have both legs planted while you're switching hands. But keep your sides even and center of gravity low:thumbsup:

That looks good... I just googled this:
  1. Watch the carnival game operator scale the ladder. Carnival game operators often demonstrate their agility on the Ladder Climb carnival game to encourage participation. Pay attention to where his feet and hands fall while moving up the ladder.
  2. Pay for a turn and get on the ladder. Position yourself so that you are balanced.
  3. Ignore the rungs of the ladder. The properties of a rope ladder are very different from traditional ladders. Treating a rope ladder like a traditional one guarantees that you will lose your balance before reaching the top.
  4. Step onto the side rope located between the rungs. While stepping on the side rope, move your hands up the ladder. For example, if you take a step with your left foot, move your right hand up the ladder to even out the movement. Distribute your body's weight over the ladder so that one area of your body will not tip the ladder over and cause you to fall.
  5. Rely on your balance. You have to move carefully and maintain your equilibrium if you want to make it to the top.
  6. Reach the top.
  7. Ring the bell.
  8. Collect your prize.

I was wondering if one of the tricks is to tell the guy NOT to hold the ladder down for you in the beginning. At first, it seems like they're just being nice to help you out with the balance but it seems like every time the guy stops holding it, you fall. I think it's because it's somewhat deceptive that you may think you're good to go, that you're balanced but really, you're not because he's 'holding you down' Can anyone confirm this?

GFunk 08-29-2010 03:37 PM

won this guy yesterday from the game where you lob the ball up, it hits the backboard and then into the laundry basket

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...0_687005_n.jpg

You gotta throw it high up, put forward spin on it. If you put enough spin and have it skim the backboard, the ball won't bounce off much and fall into the basket

Played this yesterday for the first time in years and won. But I used to work at the game so I know how it's done. They changed it now so that it's a broom stick and regular string and there's this stupid barrier that sorta blocks your vision of the bottle while you're lifting it up. Still the same concept explained by LiquidTurbo.
Lift up slowly and with control until about 60 degrees or so and then push forward and down while keeping the string tense. If you don't have control of it while lifting it up, just drop it back down to the starting position and start all over otherwise the bottle will just roll off.
