PNE Carnival game tricks! share them here. any ex-employees?

Lets share ways we can beat the house using tips and tricks
any PNE employees wanna share ideas?

I'll start it off...

4 ball pool game- try breaking the balls softly so they are all at one side. its easier to pocket 4 balls close together than balls spread apart.

Crossbow. The one in the middle with the frayed string....... aim down the middle (left-right) and low by about 3cm. Take your time and breath slowly. Don't use the one on the extreme right. The sights are off by a mile. My daughter got it the first time and so did my youngest son. I never tried it. In any case, the one in the middle seems to be the one that most of the wins are from.

LOL watching people play the climb the ladder on Saturday was hilarious.

The throw the ball in the bucket game. The guy who works at the game showed us the other day and he got it like every time. First of all you don't need to stand in front of the bucketr you will be throwing in too which almost everyone does. Throw to a bucket thats to your left or right with a left or right spin depending which one your throwing too and I guess what hand your using so that it will hit the wall of the bucket and curl around in it. Some of these tricks are easier said then done but yea.

Whatever happened to those coin machines? The ones where the surfaces slide back and forth causing coins to fall lower and lower until you get like a jackpot of coins and tokens.

It was so addicting.

No, the game has horizontal plates that move back and forth. The plates are full of coins. The player inserts coins and the machine flips or shoots them up high and they end up on one of the plates. When enough coins accumulate, they push others to fall down and pile up on the lowest plate that doesn't move. Eventually those get pushed off into the chute that the coins go down (to the player).

Damn............ I feel like danned trying to explain it.

Jonydakiller 08-24-2009 09:30 PM

Got one of those at CHQ as well, managed to get a few quarters out of it in a couple of tries.

Mercy 08-24-2009 09:35 PM

I went to some kid place with games like that one, the like bucket with the coins would always be one tilt away from spilling all the coins so i'd just shake the machine and make them drop. this was when i was 8

this isn't true.
the sites are sited to the best of the operators ability.
i used to work the crossbow game...

there were always winners on every single bow...
the bow's are old, so that is probably why the sites/accuracy of them are shit.

not allowed to cross throw in those bucket/block games, have to be standing directly in front of it

Really....... is that why the crossbow on the very right at this year's fair is all the way over to the left? I guess it's stuck there. So, why use it right? I just mentioned the one in the middle is pretty accurate.

The guy before my daughter shot, won three times in a row, my daughter then takes one shot and wins. Two days later, my son goes there and gets it on first try. I think the one in the middle is the best bet. Perhaps you can go to the fair and check for yourself.

Best trick Ever.

The game were you sit in a seat, wait until the buzzer, then an area below you releases a ball, which you roll down a bowling alley type thing, where it hits a ramp and the end, and hopefully lands in a higher point hole. You only get 1 ball, and after it enters the hole for its point value, you have to patiently wait till it rolls down the pipes and pop out near you to roll again.

there is roughly 12-15 seats, and they only start playing when atleast 8-10 people sit down. the more people who play, the better the prize is. Everyone pays the same amount, but there is only one winner. the most points makes your character on the backwall advance to the finish line faster.

Anyways..

the trick is, have 2 ppl, sit at the very left seats. farthest from "Carny"(sp?)

have the person on the right between the two friends, give his ball to the person on the left. Now he has twice the balls, and twice the advantage to win over the other Losers.

Uh, that would be classified as cheating.

i was at the pne on Saturday and I tried climbing the ladder and i keep falling !! lol
it's weird because i saw the guy who works there and he is able to climb it every single time and grab the nano!! it looks easy! I got a feeling it has to do with the guy 'helping' you and 'supporting' you by holding onto the bottom for the first few steps and once he let go..you fall...

sexyaccord 08-24-2009 10:35 PM

^ highly doubt the highschooler working there would care lol

Hmm I guess the "rules" state that but the guy working on Saturday allowed it.

xxxrsxxx 08-24-2009 10:51 PM

yes we were watching the people on the ladder for like 30 min trying to figure it out. The guy who works there did it a few times but i didn't see anyone else make it to the top. Any tricks or just a good balancing act.

Snip3r 08-24-2009 11:00 PM

where is this?

Alar 08-24-2009 11:01 PM

89blkcivic is right. We recently replaced some of the crossbows for the fair and my friend who manages the game says there is one that is way more precise than the other ones.

For block buster, we are supposed to place the blocks so the edge of them are facing directly the person throwing. A good spot to throw at is the side of the blocks on the upper half of the most bottom block requring somewhat of a side throw. I could get it 1/5 times if my aim was right. I told a guy to throw it at that spot after he spent $40 and he walked away with a bike.

One ball, aim for the 2 bottom bottles where from the top they just begin to meet as the bottle gets fatter. I told a little boy to aim for there and throw it hard and he got it on the 3rd throw. If you dont have good aim...dont bother.
