My parents had a shitty entry level Nikon F-Series so it wasn't capable of much unless you liked that yellowed film look. |

^I like that channel - it's an easy listen when I'm doing chores around the house and is educational. |

https://i.imgur.com/tdE7ikC.jpeg Shot of old Lansdowne Park circa 1928. That's 3 road at the bottom right. Lansdowne Mall wasn't built till 1977 https://i.imgur.com/koXQMgB.jpeg https://www.richmond-news.com/sponso...unity-10693248 |
It's shocking to see farmhouses with probably 4 people give or take living in them across from the south side of Lansdowne where condo towers with thousands of individuals were living only 30 years later when those towers were al built in the mid 2000's. |
I miss rihcmond news. i still remember my friend in high school got award for longest paper delivery girl. |
^ Do you remember when Fortune Ave and Gander weren't even attached? Like there was about 20 feet of grass and dirt and then someone decided to come along and connect the road. That house with the giant bubble window (which is still there) was on that corner, everyone thought it was so cool they had a giant bubble window hahaha This place: https://i.imgur.com/HaZXlK9.jpeg |

Can't you just drive like 10 minutes east and find that exact scene in E. Richmond? |

Surrey is massive. There’s a big difference between ocean park and whalley. Hate to break it to ya… |

Yeah no thanks. Downtown is absolute dog shit wrapped in a cum rag. You couldn’t pay me to live there. It’s only good for mop heads like alusterdRZD. Us geezers like peace and quiet. I can take 5 steps out of my front door and see coyotes and eagles. Nobody talks to you. It’s perfect. |

I lived at 4751 Hermitage so funny cause I'm the house with the 20 ft of grass LOL. I vaguely remember Gander. Somehow i lived at this house with the only one at the block to park 10 cars; good days to having to play badminton but then 1991 had a huge snow storm and it was crazy. The plowing was crazy. https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api...yf1EMIzDMAP70= |

All I'm saying is nobody knows/cares about the difference between West and East Richmond. South Surrey and shit Surrey. Downtown/Yaletown/Westend/Coal Harbour. It's all the same to people who are outsiders. |

Man they’ve been saying this earthquake shit since the 80s. If it happens it happens. No point in living if my chihuahua and or midget is washed away. But in the meantime Ricemond is a much better place to live than downtown ! Those godless heathens along Davie are too much for my ancient Chinese senses. |
What works for you, and what works for me. What's the point in arguing which is nicer? I honestly think suburbia is the ninth circle of hell for me but I certainly don't fault anyone for wanting to live there if they have kids or fur kids. |
No point in arguing, you’re right. If it makes sense to you then it makes sense. I don’t understand it, but I don’t understand sports, loud music, or booze either. Hell I don’t even know why people do half the shit they do like recycling or hiking. That’s the best part of a western style democracy. You can do whatever the hell you want and peoples gotta “respect” your choices. But people left to their own devices make terrible choices. |
Funny you say that, there's some benefits you wouldn't think living in the core. I like hiking. I can jump in my car and be on the north shore within 10 minutes (if the traffic's good) and on a trail in another 10-20 mins, and don't have to live with the North Shore NIMBY douches in order to enjoy it. Also I'm not a boozehound but I appreciate having a drink or two and not needing to drive home drunk or take an uber. |
We had that rental apartment on drake st. We stayed there a few nights a couple of years ago when we had the apartment vacant for renovations. My god the ambient noise is so insanely loud, and all the lights drove me nuts. Couldn’t sleep a wink. Then we walked down to David lam park and was promptly pan handled by some trash ass bum. Terrible. |
I would have liked to live downtown when I was younger and single or not married at least, that would have been cool… but I’m not sure how some people do it past their mid 30’s the constant rush of things gets to me personally. If I could walk to work I guess that would be kinda neat tho, minus the street trash people lol Living in Richmond did absolutely nothing for being able to close on any girls out in downtown, good luck keeping that vibe going taking a half hour train on uber trip back home hahahaha |
