dont have that much of driving experience so im just worried im gonna get stuck with a fwd
Hahaha I know u were asking a question in the OP, but the fact that you spent 5 seconds writing your OP does not earn a response.

Now to be honest with you, I had friends with both RWD and FWD cars get around fine with snow tires on their cars. Just don't lower your car, otherwise there's no point getting snow tires. On the other hand, my 08 MDX was unstoppable was well (with new all season tires). So it's really up to you...FWD+snow tires OR AWD SUV

AWD is a waste of money if you think AWD alone will make you a wonderful driver in the snow. It's like N drivers thinking they're invincible. AWD is great for some things... but a well-equipped FWD or even RWD is just fine in the little snow that Vancouver usually gets.

It really doesn't matter what you drive... if you are comfortable with your vehicle and know its' limits... put on good tires, and the rest of the car is in good shape (brakes/ABS, suspension, etc).. then you're going to be able to drive just as well as everyone else.. if not better.

When the first snow hits... go learn your vehicle's limitations in a nice big flat parking lot, before the idiots start trying to do donuts in it.

^ Plus regardless if you have FWD/AWD/RWD and are equipped with snow tires. Once the snow bottoms out your car you'll get stuck. So don't think it's invincible if you have an AWD drive with snow tires, etc etc...

Doesn't matter what kind of car you get/have. Like jlenko says... snow tires! All-seasons means all the seasons where it doesn't snow. Last winter was my first experience with snow tires. The Prius traction control makes driving in the snow with all-seasons a white-knuckle experience, and almost undriveable. With snow tires I could handle snow covered roads, up to the height of the underside of the car, with utter impunity.

That or put the one snow tire on one side and weld the brake caliper to the rotor on the other side.

so you're only looking to buy a car for the winter or are you looking for a car to buy for a few years? this question alone should determine what car you need... you can buy a FWD piece of shit for $2k, spend $1k on snow tires and drive it around, then put your all seasons back on after the winter. or you can buy a decent AWD truck or SUV for $2k with decent tires, drive it all winter, and then either sell it or keep it for next winter. now if you're looking for a car to keep for a few years, i would suggest just finding a car you like, not worrying about the drivetrain... if you're into civics, get that, get some snow tires with an extra set of rims, and you're good to go.
