Parent/Landlord question I'm staying with my mom temporarily (Sept to start of Jan) and we agreed on $350/month (Nothing signed, but have emails confirming this amount), I have been there for 2 weeks and she's now decided that she wants me to pay $700/month or to be out by the end of the month. Does she follow the same rules/laws that a Landlord would, or can she do whatever she wants when it comes to rent due to being family? And does she not have to give me 30 days notice for evicition? I have not left any mess, I have been quiet, I listen to music on headphones, and pretty much hang out in my room when not at work/gym/out. Thanks |
LOL..sorry. |
If you're paying her she's your landlord. PS: Your mom is a bitch. |

yeh, if you have proof, she cant ask you to pay double the amount. but then again, this is ur mom, would she sour relationship with u/ or u for that matter for a lousy $350 |
your mom must hate you. |
Yes, she is a huge fucking bitch. Thanks for the confirmation on her being my Landlord. EDIT-->Should she give me 30 days notice for moving out? |
wow, this is pretty rough. Im going to go hug my parents now. |
For $700/mo, I'd move elsewhere where I wouldn't have to see her or hear her nag. I can understand staying for $350/mo cause you can't get anyplace with that cheap of a rent, but for double the amount, there's no reason not to move. If you really want to piss her off, just not move and not pay the rent. In order for her to kick you out legally, it's a long and costly process. Because you didn't sign a rental agreement contract, there's nothing you can do to hold her to her words. |
^ Hahaha, that's a good option, but I don't think I could handle living there with her bitching at me for not paying. I don't plan on staying, just trying to figure out what I can say to her to piss her off. That and it would totally fuck up our relationship more then it already is. |
Move out ASAP and have nothing to do with her ever again. She sounds to be a bit manipulative. Do you have sisters and brothers? Is there a father in the picture? I wouldn't kick my son or daughter out over rent money. I don't know the whole story, but it's best to just leave. Take her to court. LOL |
i agree w/ 89, just move out and don't talk to her. i lol'd @ the court comment |
This could turn very creative. It's either if you want to go full out and kill the mom/son thing or just leave "cause she is your mom" She doens't seem like it, as someone said before. SHE IS A BTICH! |

I think the relationship is already fucked up.. Why would your mom want to hike the price on their own son??? Just move out dont deal with that shit.. Is it me or is this story really harsh for blood family members? |

^ Ya, I just sent her an email saying "WTF" but no, she couldn't knock on my bedroom door and have a conversation, just leave a note. Pretty sad seeing as when I moved in she gave me this big speal about "We are a family and need to commiunicate like family, and not talk by leaving notes on the counter" I FUCKING LOVE IT. And no this is not an Asian family. |
Falcon punch her. When she's down give her the people's elbow. Then proceed to flipping off the imaginary crowd. |

Once she accepts payment that pretty much a contract. She must now legally evict you. If you have not paid anything yet, IE. she is just letting you stay there, then she has the right to kick you out anytime.. |
Da fuck's her problem? |

I paid her for my first month (September) which was for $350, I also have saved emails discussing the amount to be paid. Does she legally have to give me 30 days notice? Because that'd be wonderful, as much as I like trying to find a place in 14 days! |
Move out in 14 days and sub it out to a crackhead for the remaining 16 :haha: |
