Ethanol eats away at the seals for the fuel pump/fuel system and clogs it up... that's what I hear anyways. Plus it uses more land than just plain growing corn. Ethanol does raise the octane, but it also gives you worse MPG.

At that concentration it won't do anything significant to the plastic joints etc.. except that you probably will use more gas because of the lower energy content of ethanol. Especially on such a new car, where ethanol is a known factor during design decision.

Unless Mr. q123124123124124 have a special distillery or own personal Husky/Mohawk.

With modern electronics, you use what the manual tells you to. If your car manufacturer tells you to use 87 and you use 90, you are pissing money down the drain, it won't give you any power or anything.. or even clean your injectors more, like Shell etc etc like to claim.

Not on a car like the Genesis which is new.. modern plastics are designed for that higher alkalinity.

Ah, hm. I heard the story about newer Benz's though? I mostly steer away from the ethanol-added fuels because it seems to burn quicker in my engine. That's what I find when I drive down in the states, anyways.

Ethanol has a lower energy content.. that's why you need to use more.

I haven't heard of Mercedes having to recall or even have to issue any guidance any cars due to ethanol.

O yay and I bought it at jim pattison hyundai in coquitlam I highly recommend them great service. I dealt with Chris he was a great guy. and also the genesis comes with a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty.

Ill post pics when i pick it up tonight
I also highly recommend "Port" Coquitlam's Jim Pattison. I also dealt with Chris, who was very knowledgeable and friendly~ His wife gave birth on the day that we went to pick up the car, but he still came to the dealer for us.

Trevor at North Shore Hyundai

great sales experience at Jim Pattison. very laid back and friendly.

They have a few in stock right now too, and a few "demo sales" with thousands knocked off.

PM me if you want more info.

Is this new dealership at the old Honda on 445 Kingsway?
I just saw the signature Hyundai blue on the building.. haha.

Do you know anything about a $1000 auto show rebate/coupon for Hyundai? A salesman told me this at the Vancouver Auto Show.

yes it is. I don't know anything about the $1000 autoshow rebate but since we arn't open yet. I worked the honda floor though and they had a $500 rebate that you can sign up for. 90% success rate.
