First date, guy should always pay, dont complain about being cheap if you can't even afford the bill in full, if there's a second , third of fourth date, the girl should make at least one attempt in there

my rule is, the person who asks you out should pay, or at least cover their own half, some girls out there just dont have that much money to spend, they rather blow it on clothes, coke or jewelry

if i find no interest or quality in the person by the second date, there wont be a third, she has to be pretty fuking charming to get a third date, if she passes the second, then money is not an issue

tip, asian girls (non white washed) will make an effort to pay for themselves or cover the full bill, at least most of the ones i've dated, it's kind of awkward because i dont like girls paying for me, but to each their own

i've dated A LOT of girls and girls are taking things for granted. My X and I dated for 2 yrs and she has never paid for a meal (unless it was my bday). She had the guts to ask me why we are eating well when we go out with fiends but on regular weekends we eat a shit places.

nowadays, when it comes to expenses, I put in 75%, she puts in 25%, but she THINKS she puts in 75% and me only 25%. Solution?

LOL one of the ppl i know are super cheap like when we used to go out she would calculate everything down to the penny.

One time we went for Hot Pot. There are too many ppl so we got split into 2 table. I was on the other table. When the bill comes our bill was something like 70 lish so we I think give like 80 something and her table bill came up to be 58 or 59. Well she(her table is all full of cheapos). Slip down and 60 and left. I was like O_O WFT. I FEEL even embrass when I was out with her that time.

i have always felt that guys and girls should split the bills. For example, a couple goes out for a dinner and a movie.
The guy pays for the food as it is more expensive. and the girl pays for the movie. this is for a couple that has been going for awhile.

70% guy paying and 30% girl paying is a good split.

Otherwise, agreed. IMO, I would pay for the first date and would be able to pick up the tab on subsequent dates (I would go into a date with the "expectation" that I would pay). I guess I've been lucky (or picky!) enough that I've never had the issue of paying for a girl 100% of the time... in my experience they usually want to pick up some of the costs and it's appreciated.

My rule of thumb is that if the guy asked you out on the date to dinner or whatever, he should be fully aware of the fact that he would be the one paying since he's taking the girl out, but that doesn't mean the girl still can't shell out some money too. This goes both ways

My first date with my bf, i did expect him to pay, but i pulled out my wallet anyways and ended up sharing the bill..i wasn't expecting him to let me pay but after i was just like..oh well there's nothing wrong with sharing the bill

I know people who were raised with lots of money who wont expect the guy to pay, they are down to earth and not stuck up. I find its more the ones who dont have as much who act that way, that have something to prove. But its not even that, it doesnt matter if theyre raised with or without money, its how they were raised by their parents, to teach them about respect and the value of money.
