No I mean you can't save the game disc on the HDD (for faster loading). You can still save your progress in the games. My bad.

I am both happy and sad after knowing that they are catching on the firmware instead of the games.

I bought my xbox modded 2 weeks ago knowing that its not gonna matter as long as I play legit games on XBL, and backups offline. Yet I haven't had a chance to try any backup games on my console because they are rather difficult to find in HK. So basically I bought a modded system, which can will be ban as soon as I log onto XBL, although I never played backups on it lol...

However, I'm glad that I couldn't figure out why the bridge connection between my Macbook and the Xbox tonight or else I would've gotten my console banned before I read about it. So, now I'm stuck with a 60gb modded console that won't be able to go on XBL unless I unflash it or buy an arcade system.. wasted my money for nothing.

just play offline with the banned console and online with the legit one, you should be still able to sign into your gamertag and get achievements, just not online.

I really wouldn't be surprised if it was. You two guys here running older modded 360's are fine, people with more recent mods are fucked. And developers are supposedly starting to cut back on PC development because of the piracy, so they might have given MS pressure to do the same, less they move their efforts towards the PS3

there is no such thing as stealth.

I think most likely is that when a ban wave occurs, those that are online during those times with a copied disc will get detected and banned. those that are online during those time with legit disc in the console will be ok or those that didn't came online at all during those period.

well Microsoft does all their banning in waves. If they detected you between the last wave, and the next one, you will get banned at the next one.

this changes my theory a bit though. when did this stealthing business come out? who running the latest mod has been banned, and who running "stealthed" discs was banned?

even the PSP is near unhackable now.

there are big chances that ABGX fucks the game up by patching stealth on to it (wrong stealth information). a lot of times you will have no idea where the source of the game comes from or the stealth information, when the games do not match up retail, that could easily be detected.

The ban had nothing to do with playing games early or ABGX... it's the fact that MS can detect if your xbox 360 is "flashed"... I was reading over at xbox 360 forums today people bought new xbox 360's and flashed them again thinking they got banned for playing early... WRONG! They got banned all within hours without even playing any games! but just for having a flash.

anyways i got a new xbox and didn't lose any gamerpoints or anything...

yeah he and the whole abgx team could be working for ms for all we know. and ms could possibly see every flashed xbox, but only start banning now to increase sales and come out on top of console sales, thus attracting more investors.
