realistically there's no point in taking a modded console online as you'll likely get banned, and then any potential resale shits out. The best idea is you pick up a RRoD or semi beat up console, fix it up and use that to mod.

willystyle 11-11-2009 03:24 PM

Is it safe to play most Xbox360 games offline with a modded console? or do I need to update the games on xbox live periodically and risk the chance of being banned?

Most updates I've encountered are optional. If you are not even connected it won't even prompt you to upgrade at all. Just downside is you won't get the latest updates etc...

willystyle 11-11-2009 11:24 PM

Man, that would suck if I was playing a game like NHL 10 where roster updates are important.

Now I need to reconsider getting a xbox360 over a PS3 since the xbox360 has lost its distinct advantage.

underscore 11-11-2009 11:32 PM

To me, putting aside exclusive titles all the XBox has over the PS3 is that it can be hacked. The PS3 wins in terms of noise output, heat, and general design and build quality. Every style of PS3 (CECHxxx) is fairly reworked and improved, where every "improvement"/fix Microsoft has done just creates different errors, ie old 360's RRoD from the GPU flexing and breaking contact, newer ones with the "improved" heatsink design end up RRoDing either from the GPU still losing contact, or even worse, from the RAM chips covered by this "improved" heatsink lifting.

I haven't played on live yet but have logged on live while playing single player, and have lite-on drive and got banned. I used the activate iso also for wave 4 games.

I don't think it's the drive.

You just mod'd it pretty recently too right?

are you playing these ON LIVE or playing offline, then going on live later with a legit game? either way don't be surprised if you're banned in a month.

estimated 600,000 to 1,000,000 bans in that last wave, pwned.

Cman333 10-20-2010 12:27 PM

Does anyone know anything about wave 5/6 games?

I've run the newest ABGX but can't really figure out how to burn them properly. I've seen many different ways on how to do it will no success.

JKam 12-11-2010 10:53 AM

What are the forums for modding my xbox? I googled it but there are so many that are outdated. I plan on getting two 360's. One for legit/online games and one of offline single player games.

Can anyone recommend a forum to learn or someone to flash it for me? Looked through a couple of pages but some stuff was outdated.

Easy question.

What if I have a 360, which is not connected to the internet and I only use as offline play. I notice some games ask you to add in updates will this cause a problem if I have the drive modded?

I'm basically trying to have a backup 360, which can play my games or where I can burn a copy of it and play it in my 2nd offline 360 console.

I assume it will stay functional as long as I don't connect to the internet. I have a newer 360 for online play.

Exactly what I want to do also.

I gave up looking. It's so far into the modding scene that all the old stuff comes up but is outdated. The new stuff that comes up references the old stuff which doesn't make sense to me. I was also too lazy to check at crystal mall or whatever to check if anyone will do it for me.

If you find out, post it here!

If it's offline, it *shouldn't* force you to update, otherwise they would seriously fuck over anyone with a 360 but no internet. Plus, it get's the notifications about the updates from the internet so... it will stay ignorant as long as you're offline.

Of course, you can always google if there are any critical updates, and download them before modding.

Friend is looking to get his 360 flashed

PM me if you can do it.

you probably don't have a truly offline 360 modded for downloaded games haha. actually you are required to update the dashboard for newer games to work. the update is on the game disc itself.

i m not quite sure what wave 5/6 games are, but i got pretty much every recent game to work after patching it with ABGX, are you selecting the .dvd file when you burn the game?
not sure what version your flash is, that could be a problem as well...

btw, i had my 360 modded since like 3 years ago when i bought it... i played online pretty frequently and still haven't got banned yet... not sure the reason i never get banned(touch wood), maybe its because i always get my drive updated right away when a new flash comes out?... anyways, good luck to others that plays online with a modded console too

ddr 05-10-2011 09:46 PM

if it's patched correctly, or passes 'stealth' check in abgx, you can play online. problem is u are taking the uploader's word if you don't check once more after the download is complete, which most ppl do not.

games are at wave 11 now. from what i've read, having ur drive flashed regularly has nothing to do with being banned or not. it's how the games are patched.

Lot 1114x FTMFL

I think I have a 0225 drive. Haven't opened to check yet though
