Modding an xbox 360?
 

I have an XBOX 360 in the UK (so its a PAL).

I want to play downloaded games, how do I do this ?

update driver for the dvd drive...

I don't need a mod-chip or anything?

A firmware flash can take care of it!

can you play xbox live with a flashed xbox360 or would that guarantee a ban?

depends how dumb you are. I think the latest mod you're fine, but if you try to play a burned game online and someone else is using the same copy to go online you might get banned. Or if you're like the idiot on here who tried playing Forza 3 online before the launch date, you'll probably get banned.

Don't be cheap and just buy you're fucking games.

ive been playing online with burnt games for a while now. No ban. I could just be lucky.

i'm considering getting a xbox now...ps3 games are too expensive

They are generally the same price, maybe a few more bucks for some exclusives. But the Xbox has a much better library of games.

lol I've had a dozen people in a week asking me to mod their 360's to played butt pirated games and then burn them games for $2 including the disc. then they get mad when I say no or that it'll cost them $100.

If your a serious gamer then Xbox would be your best choice, but if your just casual then the PS3 would be great cause you get the blue ray player with it too.

If you simply have silver membership and you only use it to download demos and roster changes, are you still at risk at being banned for the mod?

As of late, Iv only read about bans regarding playing games before they are released.

I'm curious. Lets say you have an original store bought game (forza 3) but played online with a modded console. Would you still get banned? I kind of want to mod it, but dont wanna deal with getting banned. I usually buy the games that are for sure winners, but would probably download the games I'm not sure about. I wouldn't play burned games online. Whacha think xbox guru's?

no you don't get banned for playing originals
xbox live check the unique serial on each game. if it sees you playing a burnt game with a serial thats flagged, then you console is banned

if you play a game before its release, you console and account gets banned

I remember hearing something about when you log on to LIVE it checks your firmware or something. Or am I remember something totally different?

Isnt that the purpose having the games Stealth patched or whatever?

Just run your games through ABGX360. If they pass the stealth check, then you can play them online. The only people that get banned are the retards that don't do this, or play big title games (GOW2/Halo: ODST) before the retail launch date.

Where do you guys download games? i need GTA in order to play expansions, and I sure as hell don't wanna buy the game again for xbox since I own it on PS3.

I usually download off Demonoid but since that is down right now, I took advantage of the topic on the Supertorrents sign up. Now supertorrents is my site. for me though, I have an xbox and a ps3 and burn all the games that are multiplatform and play it on my xbox. I buy most ps3 exclusives though cause all the ps3 exclusives are pretty good right now
