Visions FTW. Store credits come in handy when you're buying xmas gifts lol

Just keep in mind their " when your warranty expires and you haven't made any claims for your warranty you can use the full amount as store credit"

If you read the fine print, they have minimum purchases, like if your warranty has $400 value, minimum purchase is at like $800 or $1000 and its at FULL PRICE if you read the fine print.

cheap ppl do it

next time tell them to go bargain at T&T and superstore

Last year I bought a Samsung 46" LCD, a blue ray player and a 3 year PSP and got a pretty good deal because I got all three items. It ended up pretty much that I got the 3 year PSP for free.

simsimi1004 11-05-2009 11:27 AM

after buying many items from FS from the same person, i always go to him and now i usually get Min. 10% DC

They are that dumb.

You get them to lower the price of the TV when you by extended warranty then return the warranty the next day. Nowhere on the receipt it says you got a deal on the TV because of the extended warranty.

lol. how about you try it yourself?

I am pretty sure you won't be able to do that.

If you bought a TV in regular price and bought warranty, sure you can return the warranty.

But if they discounted your TV or anything else since you bought warranty from them, they will put the whole deal as a package to go trough the system. So when you return warranty, you need to either return the whole thing or pay for the price difference.

basically cheating the system, not a good way to go around it. Companies like these should have investigators, and when you do a return they ALWAYS ask for your name and such

not sure if you been the the best buy at metrotown or cambie but they're different now, got new till system that tells the guy if there's a deal. I know, I just returned my D90.

my dad haggled the 52XBR6 for $2550 few days before boxing day last year...vision's with no warranties thrown in. I think that's pretty impressive considering he has broken english haha. MSRP was at $3200 and the best Futureshop could offer was $2800 with no PSP. If we wanted to get even more discount we could've brought the receipt back into BB/FS and ask them to PM it.

I think at the time that TV has been out for less than a year..but after a few month it was phased out along with XBR7 + 8 and now they have 9. I'm not sure if 9's gonna be phased out early next year, if so that's more discount you can get.

How come you are considering the XBR and the Z? Shouldnt you be looking into the W instead of Z?

they've had one displayed at the sony store for months didnt realize it was the 10 series tho

i dont think this is gonna stack up with previous gen xbrs though, but the slim line is nice

skyxx 11-05-2009 11:23 PM

^ I still like the SXRD Rear projection TVs. They were quite awesome. Oh well.

twitchyzero 11-06-2009 12:31 AM

yeah..i guess these slimlines are LED based too? Do they share the same panel as the LED samsung series? I'd no idea BE3 is already out either..

fail us all you want but many people on RFD has done it thru legit means

skyxx 11-06-2009 01:33 AM

The XBR10's are LED EDGELIT tech by Sony. They aren't the powerhouse "triluminos" technology. The slimlines are more about form factor and not performance. If you want performance then by all means stick with the XBR8's.

I thought so for the longest time. I'm starting to hate the no commission at BestBuy. Find that they have no personal motivation to move the product, and can't haggle with them. Tried to get more than $100 taken off of an open box tv, guy was unwilling to budge. have had other run ins like this in the past with them too.
