This thread is sad ...

I game at least a little bit every day and, according to my Vista Performance & Reliability Monitor, I haven't had a piece of software crash on me since July 20, 2008 (17 months ago, GRID) and I've had a 10.00 Reliability Index since then.

This is a computer I spent roughly $1000 on 2 years ago and it still plays the majority of games at high settings (GTA IV the only one not at high, but still looks better than PS3/Console).

I have about 30 games I've purchased through Steam and another 15 or so not through Steam over the years (since 2003). Most of the games I've got on Steam I got on half-price specials within a month or 2 of release (and PC games are already cheaper than consoles). Adding everything up, I've spent probably about $1200 on games over the last 6 years. On a console, not only could I NOT carry those over to the next console in many cases, but I would only have got about 20 games within 2 months of release instead of 45 and those games will carry over to my next PC as well, unlike the consoles.

PCs can use the XBOX 360 controllers w/o any issue; PCs can be hooked up to your HDTV; a keyboard/mouse is not useless on a couch (assuming you have a wide armrest, that's how I game).

Lawl i'm a PC guy as well, i bought a PS3 80gb (the good one , which played PS2 games) back in a day, got bored of it in like a month and sold it. I haven't bought a console since then... Don't get me wrong, consoles are great , but can't beat the good ol' keyboard and mouse. And buying games on pc, fuck that. Haven't bought a games since torrents were out, so.. basically since the internet was born. I mean why pay for something when you get it for free? lol.

piracy kills gaming. if you just wanna try it out, sure, but if you like the game you should actually buy it.

I used to be the same way, but spending like $20-$50/month on a game or 2 isn't as big of a deal as it used to be. That's 1-2 hours of work now :p

PC games that are only singleplayer = torrent. Once i've tried it's enjoyable i'll go buy it for console when it goes for cheap.
PC games with great MP = buy
although console games are more expensive...i feel that overtime their value is more worthy (something that I would collect and not throw away).

Nowadays for PC games I always opt for steam if possible.
