Horrible crash. RIP. |
they didnt even have their sirens on.. |
fucking skytrain :D |
if i were in the mazda, i wouldnt have turned left, seeing someone coming that fast..... |
cop had the right of way, and the car shouldn't have turned left |
Left turners at fault. |
*read it wrong |
wow, just wow |
how come when this happened to me ( turning left ) ICBC found me 100% at fault? Fucking ICBC |
^^^^^^because it is your fault WTF were those left-turners thinking.... i had a similar situation today where i was driving through the parking lot and some old bitch came flying out of the intersection (where she had a stop sign) if i didnt slam my brakes i would have tboned her on her drivers side, i honked at her and she fucking told me to 'fuck off' oO crazy bitch doesnt realize she could have gotten fucked up |
It's the left-turners fault. |
the car taking the camera was traveling at 60-70mph, the other cop car that blew pass him was probably doing 30-40mph on top of that, so why the heck was he traveling at 160km/h on a city street w/o siren on? |
agree with left turners fault, I though that even if the car going staight its still always the left turner's fault? why the manslaughter charge? EDIT nvm didn't read the state law part |
Working in the private security field, I've worked and trained with many officers, military, etc.., and I usually can understand and see justification behind their actions, however I just can't in this case. Quote:

bad cop |
Wow @ you guys that are saying it was the left hand turn peoples fault... The cop that hit the car had the throttle pinned for something like 9 seconds before the accident. I consider myself a pretty good driver but even I would have issues judging speed in a situation like this. When the drivers decided to make the left hand turn the two cop cars most likely were traveling the same speed. Obviously there would have been lots of time to make that turn if the cop didnt decide to floor it right at that point. How can you people say it was the left turn persons fault when the cop was going close to 3 times the speed limit. |
damn! |
Thats another reason why you dont pass on the right. Oncoming vehicle making a turn may not see the passing car until it is too late as well as passing vehicle isn't able to see around the car it is passing if there is an oncoming car making a left turn. |
^ +1 when I come with an intersection on the right with cars on the left i always slow down a bit and maybe flash my light so the left turn cars know. |
^ Never went as far as flashing lights, but whenever i'm about to go through an intersection i'll have my foot ready to brake and one hand ready for the horn. Its more of a subconscience action really |
i'm sure most of you (if not all) are drivers, so you should know that it's hard to judge the rate of speed that somebody is doing if they're going in the oncoming direction from you. it's very likely that the driver of the mazda didn't perceive the cop to be going as fast as he was (i wouldn't either, if his sirens weren't on) and made the turn thinking it was safe regardless of who's fault it is, bottom line is that the cop should've had his siren on if he was going to be travelling at that speed, or slowed down. |
^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ sorry... sarcasm... |
