Holy shit I spent so much fucking money on Pokemon cards before when it was crazy...now I wish I hadn't spent so much cause its now useless shit anyways..I think I have most of the cards up until the Gloom/Forest pack thing, even the rigged 120hp Charizard LOL
I still remember going to 7-11 almost everyday to see if they have any booster-packs or more full-box sets to buy, those packs were like $30 FUCKKKKKKK and the booster-packs were like $10 man i wasted so much fucking money on that shit that it's not even funny..
I have a shitload of hockey cards that were passed down from my uncle, apparently hockey cards were the CRAZIEST things back in the day, have like 2-4 huge cookie tin jar-cans full of them, hopefully they'll be valuable one day
Pogs...I remember them but parents probably threw them out already. Bought a $35 deck of magic cards and that's it, wasn't too addicted to it...Yu-Gi-Oh! was another fucking money waster...spent just as much on this or maybe a little less like Pokemon cards...had a lot of the really good cards and even bought a whole box of booster packs, yes a whole box of unopened booster packs....hell now I don't even know where they are, probably in a binder or box somewhere down at the garage..
Beyblades was alright, bought a few of them @ $20 or so then that's basically all you needed and fucking $1-$3 rip-plastic things that kept on ripping and breaking if you pull on it weird and awkwardly...$20 whip-launcher, $40 customized dragoon launcher, $10 arena...more money down the drain..
Also transformers was pretty big too back in the day but they were SOOOO EXPENSIVE, like $40+ for one of those crazy ones...I always wanted optimus prime but I got the Shark guy that shoots stuff out from his stomach and some others...I have no idea why they were so fucking expensive ARGHHH and Power Rangers transformers were pretty expensive too..not sure how much though just know that they were expensive..
If only I can take all that money back wasted on fads and stupid things, I would have a lot more spending money now for investing...sigh

is ebay a good source to see what the current market value is for some of the stuff you are asking about? or if you're not planning on keeping them/throwing them out it might be an opportunity to make some $$$ if some of your stuff has value...

Pokemon Cards, got a lot of special editions, shinies, and random crap
(anyone on RS go to those Saturday Pokemon Card game things at Lansdowne way back when?)
I got some Yu-Gi-Oh cards as well
Got a lot of "thomas the tank engine" tracks lying around, and my parents use them to prop up weird table legs and such once every so often.

Hockey cards. Spent wayyyyy too much money on them. I have about 10-12 big albums worth. No idea how many but it is definitely in the thousands.
Lots of Lego too... but at least that was educational in some regard.

I was never really into collecting anything,my hobby back when I was a kid(it still is today)was riding bmx bikes with my friends, that's where all our time and money went to.
I recently sold some oldschool spare parts for alot more than what I paid for them.

I live by the motto "when in doubt throw it out". If I haven't used it in a couple years and I come across it when cleaning it's getting turfed with the exception of some really valuable baseball cards I have from 1937.

I use to join the Pokemon league at Metrotown toysrus back then in 98 lol. It's pretty damn cool.
I still think Basic set is the best of all other set. Can't forget the aka "Rain dance deck"
Too bad nowadays the new pokemon cards are outrageously strong.
EDIT: Anyone still want to trade pokemon cards ??
