$1799, down from $2299 but the 2016 is $2599. The frame only price is $1899 for 2016.

Parts are really nothing special, but it's a killer frameset and worth upgrading down the road for the price of a groupset.

Otherwise if you need a similar sized tire right away to get rolling for the time being, PM me and I can hook you up with one.

Yes it's for a cyclcross bike. I'm a bike noob but it might just be the tube that needs replacing, coworker said it's probably just pinched and it's also a much cheaper fix than the full tire. Any recommendations on tubes or are they all pretty generic? Thanks for the offer azncreationz.

Wanted to ride across sea-wall this weekend, but weather network is forecasting rain for the next few days..
#darn it.

No worries. So it's your tube that's split, and not your actual tire? If it's your tire that's split, then you should replace it. But yeah, if it's just your tube, then just replace your tube (or patch it if you want to if it's just a pinhole). Make sure to check the inside of your tire though to see if there's any debris or a thorn causing your tube to puncture before placing the new tube in. No, not all tubes are the same, such as if you want a latex tube or a lighter weight tube (they cost more), but a regular tube will be fine, such as one from MEC. Just make sure to get the correct size tube and correct type valve, most likely presta in your case.

Install a pair of fenders and you're good to go.

I purchased a hybrid Del Sol Campus 101 and rode it on the weekend, this is my first bike I owned that has gears. Left handle has (1-2-3) and Right handle has (1-2-3-4-5-6-7).

I am still kinda trying to figure out the gears. My legs are tired and I probably was using the gears all wrong.

When going up hills which gears should I really be using? And what about cruising on flats?

You should be using the smallest chainring up front, and the biggest cog in the back.

I'm so excited that I got into cycling; it's addicting.

I'm borrowing someone's Specialized with carbon forks, 105 and Ulterga and that's pretty much all I know. 2 in the left and 10 on the back? If that makes any sense. I'm riding ~-54 times a week 50km a day (richmond, UBC, to spanish banks); looking to invest in a bike; $1000-1500 if there's an epic deal i guess.

any suggestions; i just went to a store and I was told a Giant deify alum + carbon forks. Anything I should look out for a small road bike (i'm 5'5)?

Get yourself an extra tube, and tire levers for sure as well as a way to pump up your tube if you get a flat.

It seems bikes with mech groupos are going way down in price compared to electronic counter parts. A fully decked out giant propel advanced with ultegra groupo can be had for around 2800.

I started out with a Jamis Ventura Comp for 780 bucks and it was pretty damn good for the price. Sport Chek has some decent bikes around your price point.

Personally, I do not like Disc brakes at all.

How about you give me $1200 and I sell you my full carbon Giant road bike, with SRAM components, including SRAM Red carbon cranks. Lots of carbon aftermarket parts on it as well. It is also the right size for you. :)

Not sure if any of you caught this but a few weeks back I saw a brand new Cervelo S3 rainbow frame selling on craigslist for $1,000. I thought it was too good to be true and dismissed it as a replica china frame.

I was browsing CL again yesterday and came across the frame again, but this time the frame was built.

And then on the search results was another post warning users of the Chinvelo

I guess my question is, how could the other person tell the frame was bought from China? Were there any obvious giveaways from the OP's photos?

lowside67 05-24-2016 06:14 PM

Dead giveaway #1... the internally routed rear brake cable.
Dead giveaway #2... the internally routed rear shifter cable.

Here is the real one (note rear cable exit location/decal and that there is no front shifter entrance)

The real bike is so damn pretty though...

you can also see on the chain stay the decal "vroomen white design" looks not only misaligned but also scrunched up at the end

lowside67 05-25-2016 03:11 PM

I've been emailing the guy, he just came clean and apparently "just found out from Cervelo and will be going back to the previous owner" who he bought the frame from.

Just FYI.

Doubl3_H 05-25-2016 03:35 PM

Taking the bike out of storage, where do you guys recommend I bring it for a full tune up?
Thanks

Canyon Bicycles officially announces US expansion | CyclingTips

Quote:

“Today we can announce that we are going to open up the U.S.,” said Canyon chief brand officer Frank Aldorf, during a phone conversation with CyclingTips. “For people to go online and order, this is going to happen in spring 2017. We know how tough this market is, and that the consumers are very demanding, so we have to be prepared. This company has been thinking about this for a long time.”

bcrdukes 05-28-2016 07:46 AM

Finally!

Interestingly enough, you can often find used Canyon bikes from the pro teams after a race season at pretty killer prices haha.

lowside67 05-28-2016 08:27 AM

They also said they were going to be selling direct to the US in late 2015, so as with EVERYTHING Canyon... better be prepared for disappointing overpromising and underdelivering...
