Also, this video on removing the rear wheel has saved me so much time and shame

raceviewcycles.com , approach with caution, buyer beware.

I've purchased twice from them, and I received the items that I paid for.

Was it the quickest turn around? Nope.

Both orders took 3-4 weeks to receive and poor email follow up / communication. At the end of the day, I received the goods I ordered at a huge discount, so overall I'm happy.

Just make sure your creditcard refund policy is robust :)

Just wondering if you are still happy with these guys? They have a great price on a set of Campy Bora wheels I have been eyeing up as an upgrade for my bike but it's a bit less of a "well known" site compared to Merlins/PBK/etc.

So Canada Populaire results were in, messed up my name big time as well as my friend's. Did not label my bike as a single gear. I carried my friend's card so we both finished 7:58 so I helped him cheat under 8 hours. LOL. Waiting sucks. I got sunburned like crazy. Might solo next year to avoid extra hours in the sun getting slightly cooked.

Jonathan Levy and Clement Chi. I swear I spelled it out for them and THEY wrote it. Can't blame my bad writing.

You could've shaved off an hour or even more if you didn't have to wait for your friend.

My finish time was listed as 6:43

Nice! I might solo it next year. People kept looking at me funny after I climb a hill past them and when I finish a hill then just stop to look back and wait as they pass. It's so tough to get going once I stop each time. Glad My friend it through. I did that hill on Vye twice when I stopped to wait at the top. Some guy was like, I think your buddy blew a flat and I had to turn around to find him and do that hill again. :okay:

When's the next RS ride? Would love to cruise with another riding group.

bcrdukes 07-04-2016 02:16 PM

Throw your stock tires away (or donate them) and get a good set of tires and don't worry too much about flats ever again.

dat_steve 07-04-2016 03:53 PM

what's the general mileage/lifespan for a set of tires? I think I'm about 3-4 seasons on the current set.

bcrdukes 07-04-2016 04:00 PM

Holy, time to change them, Marcel Kittel!

General rule is every 3000KM? Some people go further, but our roads are shit, so I replace mine every season or so.

dat_steve 07-04-2016 04:31 PM

yikes - yeah they're pretty worn. maybe i'll give 25c tires a go!

Anyone know about this place?

:lol

TOS'd 07-04-2016 06:25 PM

Let's pick an easy route for us first timers group ride. :)

604CEFIRO 07-04-2016 10:57 PM

Not everything is cheaper.

For me I buy my Vittoria g+ cottons for $54 on raceview vs $70+ elsewhere

My buddy just picked up his ltd edition colnago c60 in matte and gold lugged cf.

Website claims 100 were made in each ltd colour way.

Likely the most gangster bike I've touched irl

heleu 07-05-2016 06:34 AM

Whoa, I didn't know they still made lugged bikes like that.

My ancient Trek 2300 is identical - steel lugs with carbon tubes. Of course it doesn't look anywhere as nice as that.

Google returns "K G Pawnshop Buy & Sell - 8 Reviews - 10735 King George Hwy ..."

I think you're going to see a lot of crappy tire/walmart specials...

bcrdukes 07-05-2016 08:25 AM

Those wheels. :sweetjesus:

What should one look for when joining a cycling club? I'm hoping to find a more serious group to up my training, fitness and hopefully get into some crits by next season.

Edit: Also, would any of you know of a route that has a steady climb of about 20k? I believe Seymour is about 13, while Cypress is 15 with gradients of 7% and 5%, respectively.

Derek_N84 07-05-2016 10:59 AM

For those with white shoes, how hard are they to keep clean? I've been wanting new shoes but been warned that they get dirty quick or they stain?

I have only ever owned/worn white shoes and they are fine. If you get dirt on it, nothing some water and a cloth and/or some light soap won't do the trick.

I've owned my Gaerne's for 3.5 seasons and they are fine, except for the minor scuff or two here and there.

Once you get your first scuff that doesn't come off, it won't matter anymore. I got shiny R171s with glossy finish rode them through damp roads to break them in. No fucks given, at the end of the day, they are shoes and getting them dirty is inevitable. I cared about scuffing my ultegra pedals for about 5 minutes.

Friendly advice from a road racer friend of mine "if you want more clicks, just do the mountain twice."

Seems legit.
