Shaw's 100mbps Internet...

Just got a call from shaw saying they'll upgrade my internet to their new 100mbps service free for a month... saying they'll give me a call after the month is over if i want to cancel or something...

I didnt even know they had this and did some research and found:

http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/S...oadband-100712

So basically a free month of internet then cancel, who the hell is gonna pay $250 a month for internet...

StylinRed 12-08-2009 07:29 PM

we need more competition shaws prices are retarded

.Renn.Sport 12-08-2009 07:56 PM

i'm paying $99 HKD for 100Mbps internet LOL

tiger_handheld 12-08-2009 08:34 PM

why are they pushing this plan on consumers? this should be marketing by shaw business for businesses.

MikeyStyle 12-08-2009 09:47 PM

You better remember to call and cancel (even though they say they are going to call); or they may just enroll you and start charging you next month.

^ Exactly what I was thinking..

Still too expensive...regular high speed is good enough for me...

I want faster internet...

Crowtservo 12-09-2009 07:54 AM

If I was gonna pay $250 a month for internet I'd sure as hell expect no bandwidth limits. 200GB is ridiculous, I get that now with my 7MB for $30.

I do 300GB a month on extreme (100GB cap) and I negotiated a deal with retentions for it to be $35 permanently. :D

:damn: that's insane. They just don't charge you for the overage?? That's my one worry of switch to shaw when I move back to Vancouver is I easily use 250GB a month and shaw doesn't seem to offer anything that high.

hi5-ive 12-09-2009 12:45 PM

ohhh they wont call you.. you gotta call to cancel

So what kind of prOn collection do you have? LOL. 300GB a month is crazy....well for me. I'd be lucky to go over 20GB now.

lol i download like 40 tv shows a week in mkv on usenet, lots of torrents, and a shitload of just general traffic.

had a shaw tech come in today and install a powered amp before my modem

getting double the upload and way less packet loss :D

When do you even have time to watch all that?

27mpbs is fast enough for me. 100mbps would just be overkill. And not worth the extra $120/mo for that matter.

twitchyzero 12-09-2009 06:12 PM

100mbps is definately overkill for home even small office useage.
even with a comp with 10TB it will fill up so quickly

skyxx 12-09-2009 10:12 PM

You guys shouldn't complain. I get 6Mpbs only. 3G is faster than my speed! :lol
