Shaw's 100mbps Internet...

Just got a call from shaw saying they'll upgrade my internet to their new 100mbps service free for a month... saying they'll give me a call after the month is over if i want to cancel or something...

I didnt even know they had this and did some research and found:

http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/S...oadband-100712

So basically a free month of internet then cancel, who the hell is gonna pay $250 a month for internet...

You better remember to call and cancel (even though they say they are going to call); or they may just enroll you and start charging you next month.

If I was gonna pay $250 a month for internet I'd sure as hell expect no bandwidth limits. 200GB is ridiculous, I get that now with my 7MB for $30.

I do 300GB a month on extreme (100GB cap) and I negotiated a deal with retentions for it to be $35 permanently.

that's insane. They just don't charge you for the overage?? That's my one worry of switch to shaw when I move back to Vancouver is I easily use 250GB a month and shaw doesn't seem to offer anything that high.

So what kind of prOn collection do you have? LOL. 300GB a month is crazy....well for me. I'd be lucky to go over 20GB now.

lol i download like 40 tv shows a week in mkv on usenet, lots of torrents, and a shitload of just general traffic.

had a shaw tech come in today and install a powered amp before my modem

getting double the upload and way less packet loss

27mpbs is fast enough for me. 100mbps would just be overkill. And not worth the extra $120/mo for that matter.
