The lot definitely had a sign saying you have to pay at all times.
And there was even a BCIT employee in the building that said I need to pay when I asked
her.

i think all the ticket machines at bcit are now electronic, right? if thats the case, when ppl pay, they enter in their stall # and thats it; that stall has been paid for the entire day. therefore, if you park in the prime parking spots where most kids would likely park in the morning, you wont have to pay.

If the space/plate has changed and you haven't paid, out pops a ticket.
Good try, though.

Good try, though. | hmm i guess they've gotten stricter. 2 years ago i was there every other day around 4-5 and have never paid or gotten a ticket.
big caveat on this one

Or maybe I'm just not reading it properly. | Hmm...so we can't park in staff parking even during night class hours? (after 6pm?) I have a class in SE12 and staff parking P5 is right by there. Would be hella convenient to be able to park there...

sometimes the first guy that parks there won't pay for the spot because he/she will leave early. impark usually comes in at around 1-2pm
also, i've seen several security guys take down some asian dude. he was on the ground and probably was a car thief.

Would be hella convenient to be able to park there... | "The Burnaby Campus has implemented pay-by-stall parking. Parkers must observe the restriction that students or visitors must not park in employee lots until 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, with the exception of parking lots 8, 16 and 24 which are restricted to employee parking twenty-four hours a day, all year round.
The customer inputs the parking stall number they parked in, makes their payment, and retains the ticket receipt as proof of purchase.
In the event the customer is required to leave and return to the campus on the same day, and is unable to return to the original parking stall, they can place their original ticket receipt face-up on their vehicle dashboard as confirmation of payment."
bcit.ca/parking
The 24 hr Staff lot will have red "Reserved plates" tacked on the curb, and also a sign saying Staff parking.
The other (park-able) Staff parking will have a sign that says you can park there after 4:30pm, and no "Reserved" plates.
Since I have a real pay stub now, an evil thought did occur. Since I'm good at Photoshop, I could make counterfeit stubs if I really wanted to,
which is hard to tell that during night time when it's behind a windshield. All I have to do is change the date and print more...
Based on what I quoted from the site above, my ticket stub doesn't necessarily have to match with my stall number.
Although that would take more balls than I have to pull that off. Who know's what kind of shit I'll be in if I got busted. lol
I still don't understand why all the cars in that parking lot didn't have the stub on their dashboard.
I AM supposed to return to my car and put the stub on my dash... right??? Is that what you guys do?

Not with online permit. With online permit, you pay for your license plate, not the stall.

You should put a sticker on the side of your door that says:
"If you read this, you've already been caught on video camera. Don't try nothing stupid or I will track you down and murder you, take a step back."
will make the criminals think twice

Sorry, if you all revsceners actually pay attention to the news, there is a reason why the prices went up: http://www.sbr.gov.bc.ca/documents_l...ns/sst_105.pdf
Please read under overview and onwards.
All "parkings" in the province have increased their prices.
