Nice coming from a guy who wants MRI for headaches.
I didn't say I want MRI for headaches you stupid fuck. If you knew anything about US medical system, you'd know they give those fucking scans out like candy on Halloween. I spend 1-3 weeks every month in various US hospitals radiology departments, that's how I know, if you were wondering.

Now STFU and mop that floor bitch.

1) He was in bumbfuck Manitoba, ended up in a shitty hospital that probably was no better than one in Mexico. He was in great pain, near death (his COLON was OPEN, and leaking FECAL MATTER into his body) and had to get the fuck out of there. So he was very emotional about that, and still very upset about it.

2) Obviously he's a devout right-winger, and mostly this was a rebuttal to the idea that universal health care is the way to go for America. Lefties will use Canada as an example of it being good, and Righties will use it as an example of the opposite. Both are right. Brock used this as an example of the fact that he might be living with a poop-bag attached to his ass for the rest of his life if private facilities didn't exist.

3) Brock is a constant performer. That is why he is such a big star. He knows what to say to get headlines. The fact that this is the hottest thread in the RS off topic forum tells you this. It's probably all over other non-MMA related forums as well. People who agree with him will love him, people will disagree will hate him. Either way, he makes money and becomes a bigger star for it, so all the power to him

As MMA fans, we get Brock's thinking and his attitude.

But like Skinnypupp said, He was in bumfuck Manitoba, i'm pretty sure he wouldn't make the same complaint if he was in say Vancouver/T.O.

As for medic care in canada, i like what we have. But if I was as rich as brock, and had UFC covering cost. I would say the same damn things. Who needs any other hospitals when I could go to the Mayo Clinic.

Oh awesome time line btw. 6 hours before you saw a doctor? Highly suspect. I know when you're in pain time slows to a halt but come on. Man up. Grow some balls and ask for analgesia.
I'm not a doctor, how should I know to ask for analgesia?

I informed the nurses on duty several times of my pain and requested to see a doctor immediately. If they cannot recognize someone curled into a ball on the floor puking into a bucket - well that's highlights the problem with our healthcare system.

6 hrs. My roommate timed it.

You don't have to be a doctor to ask for pain medication. Again, quite elementary.

You now... when your hand is to close to fire you remove it... Makes sense right?

they have a surprisingly remarkable financing system in place..unfortunately i don't feel their medical treatments are on-par with other first-world countries and the doctors get overworked.

I don't need to experience an earthquake in Haiti to believe it would suck.

There is nothing wrong with taking credible people's experience. The problem with "my friend" is people exaggerate to make a point.

I waited 6 hours in the ER without seeing a doctor, and 12 hours before having my appendix removed.

Our system sucks.

Informing the nurse of your pain and wanting to see a doctor about it should be sufficient enough.

Is healthcare becoming like the self-checkout at the grocery store? Do I have to do your job too even though I'm already paying you?

you waited in line for a surgical procedure. longer then you should have. but did you take into consideration that other people required more immediate attention?

In Taiwan, you wont see a case like taylor192 suffering in the hospital.... everyone gets immediate attention when they're needed it. There is no wait for emergency and from what taylor192 described, it is considered as an emergency when a person is curled into a ball on the floor puking into a bucket.

Is it just me or hospital in Canada are lack of doctors ?? I've been to canada hospitcal once for a surgery, I hardly see anyone was working there while the seats were full of patients. It was like the scene straight from "Silent Hill" where the hospitcal is quite dead and full of ill patients

If you go to ER without insurance you will get care just like any other person.

Obviously the current American system sucks ass for people who can't afford insurance, and a public option would be great.

The topic of this discussion is Canadian healthcare quality versus American. The American system wins in that category, efficient or not.

FYI Taiwan and singapore are "healthcare/medical tourism" hotspots where alot of people from asia go to get healthcare done.

Read one of my previous posts.

I waited behind people with the flu and sprained ankles, while I was curled in a ball on the floor puking.

Its how our "fair" system works. I wasn't in immediate danger of dieing (although they wouldn't know since a doctor didn't see me) so I had to wait my turn.

If your argument our system is "fair", then so be it. Brock's argument is that "fair" system suck for those who can afford better care and I agree with him. I would have paid for faster care.

---

Hint: My sisters gave me great advice after than incident. Always call an ambulance, especially if you have a work health pan that covers it. If you're brought in by an ambulance, you skip the queue in the ER.

"fair" eh?
