Which we know isnt going to happen. I'm sure the cops will make up some bullshit story about how he had a weapon or tried swinging at them.

I can see them trying to take advantage of the situation due to him being asian and not being able to speak english very well

3seriesBeeM 01-22-2010 11:45 AM

I wish something would happen though. I dont know how they pull it off all the time getting away with this, there should be no way that two "trained" officers would have to beat the guy that bad to arrest him. That is assault.

update:
At first police said the man resisted but now they took the statement back and said Chinese man did NOT resist.
Police identified themselves when victim asked who it was before opening the door
as soon as the door was open, chinese man was yanked out and beaten. AFTER he was beaten his name was asked.

Ok, so they identified themselves, but what justifies beating an innocent man and fracturing his bones?

Good luck getting outta this one assholes

Vitality 01-22-2010 12:27 PM

all they're good at is giving speed tickets

minimebang 01-22-2010 12:36 PM

they are fuking losers. I thought police force was trained to help citizens.
VPD should learn from hong kong. 8 million ppl in a super small packed city. Look how well their system are. Shame on you VPD, let see wht you guys can do during the olympic.

RS_Pat 01-22-2010 12:38 PM

Great, just the kind of publicity the city needs before the Olympics...

Welcome to Vancouver, where the cops beat you first, ask questions later!

I can see the effects of heroism comes into play here. The cops got a call saying that a woman & baby is in trouble. These cops probably thinking that saving them would make them hero. As a result, they can justify the use of excess force since as men, we are suppose to protect women & children. If it is an incident about some other dispute, the force employed would likely be less.

Oh shit, that's even more brutal. Those cops should seriously get charged. Common sense would tell anyone that it's NOT the proper procedure to beat a guy up before asking questions.

Ludepower 01-22-2010 12:46 PM

Have you guys notice a disturbing trend with the VDP...every other month we're hearing stories about abuse of power.

If you watch The Wire...it gives you the idea the ammount of power these officers really have.

And no Im not comparing a TV show to the VDP... but it's not far-fetched to think cops are just ego driven maniacs who think they're above the law.

Give me a fucking break. They didn't ID themselves as cops.

I'd slam the door in their face too if I didn't know they were cops.

maybe he should learn english & not have illegal suits harbouring dodgy wife beaters - and then he'd be able to deal with this issue before it escalated to him being beaten

i have no sympathy for him - i live in canada as an immigrant & I speak the language for reasons such as this, living like a normal human being

I did a search and couldn't find illegal suits, were they fake Armanis? or did you mean suites...hopefully you speak the language better than you can write it.

that goes into Rev vocabulary

Even the officers realized there were two suites in the house and they went to the right place ...

even Wu was the drunken husband who reported had struck the wife in the back of her head ...

even the officers strongly believed that there may be a woman and child inside who could be in danger ...

even Wu does not speak a word of English ...

it is absolutely unacceptable for the officers to just drag him out the door and start beating the shit of of him.

I guess Wu should consider himself lucky ... at least he was not tasered to death ...

dicecube 01-22-2010 01:56 PM

The guy will probably settle for less. VPDs word against his. The victim probably doesn't speak much English so even through a translator in court, the argument won't come out in full. The city judge is probably drinking buddies with the chief of police so it'll probably slide they'll probably make up some BS and say guy was fighting back so it was self defense.

I also like how the non-cantonese cops just beat him whereas the Canto one, listened and apologized.

edit. my dad probably would have got beat too since hes a fob

you know, the good cops on any police force also don't appreciate those cops that tarnish their image by doing what was allegedly done.... so to paint ALL cops with the same brush is unfair.

*FAIL suit on*

If the good ones are tired of the bad ones ruining their image, maybe they should do something about it...
