just try to disconnect/reconnect the coaxial cable from both ends from the cable outlet and your terminal and bypass any splitters you may have to see if that improves the quality Quote:

Yes after 3 years or so and 4-5 dual tuner boxes i've given up on shaw. I thought I was paying the price being a early adopter of the first dual tuner hdtv box. Imagine having people over, showing off the HD. Instead they got a treat of shitty audio drop outs. I gave up and have now canceled cable and torrents are the way to go. |
Channel 14 is doing it now |
TELUS > SHAW enough said |
Bump for this thread because I'm watching a Chinese movie again instead of Cops. :fuuuuu: |
Shaw knew I was posting. They fixed it |

if you have telus internet goodluck with bandwitdth... they can barely support your internet let alone do both. Bell Tv is the Best by far. You get the most channels + most HD channels for the same price as shaws basic bullshit... only if we could change to Bell. eff shaw. |

Why does Shaw hate Cops? Seriously? |
Just download it. Problem solved. If a newbie member made a post like this, he would be failed dozens of times. |
Thats not the point. Instead of having to go outside of the law to download a commercial television broadcast I should be able to watch the channel I've paid to have access to and watch the show I intended to watch. The fact that I keep updating this thread shows a continued failure on Shaw's part to fulfill the agreement they have with me, as the customer, to give me access to programming of my choice. |

Since you're handling this matter with the utmost amount of seriousness, you should be venting your frustrations with Shaw, not RS. Really, don't be offended, but given the solutions already suggested in this thread, and the matter itself, don't expect a whole lot of sympathy. |
Yeah, I've called them. They said they're "Working on it" In all honestly, fail me if you want. I don't mind. Its Shaw who fails harder. |
Most of the times when stations have broadcasting issue its usually started from the source (aka the broadcasters) In this case the closest relay station for Fox is based in Seattle/Washington area. Shaw only acts as a middleman and direct those transmitting signals from station satellites to the household cable. If the stations transmit fucked up signals the most Shaw/Telus/Bell/whatever can do is call up the stations and tell them to turn some knobs and adjust it from the source. The reason can either be weather/power outage/solar flare/godzilla or whatever the hell. Now it depends on how serious the issue is, it can either TAKE AWHILE or REOCCUR AGAIN. Or if its just a minor issue then it most likely will occur once in a blue moon... |
I read Telus TV is stealing Shaw customers. Last year at this time they had around 78,000 subs in Western Canada, right now they have around 170,000 and most are ex-Shaw customers. I also read that Telus is updating all their PVR's to the Micrsoft Mediaroom PVR which will be the same PVR used in Bell's new IPTV service in Toronto and Montreal. |
