I also read that Telus is updating all their PVR's to the Micrsoft Mediaroom PVR which will be the same PVR used in Bell's new IPTV service in Toronto and Montreal.

if ur the microsofts Medi...telus is good, otherwise, telus is crap , specially for analog channels. HD in shaw looks better also. (when it does work)

that said, thr is 100-200% profit for these telecommunication companies. (apart from the money spent in upgrading infra.)

employee cable package is at cost $26-29 that included every single channel.

Underdawg, actually ur partly correct. they do take feed from fox and other major networks. manipulate it with canadian ads /content and push it out. thats why sometimes u see canadian ads in fox programing. and if u check thr is a lag between fox & global broadcarst of sunday primtime shows. thats because shaw plays around with content before its pushed out on the wire.
alot of time the issue is decoders, that decode programing for shaw.

El Bastardo, start jotting down the times u have problem , keep a log, & next time when u call shaw, tell them the dates times, and soon enough ull have a credit for a week out of the month. or get them to open all the channels for u for a month. (its a simple command on the computer and its free for them to give)

Telus TV has Satellite TV as well. It rides off Bell's "network". It's basically the same thing actually, from the channels to the PVR boxes as well. The only thing different is the software inside the box.

anyone else lose CTV in HD after the olympics? I had this channel with my Shaw HD Basic package for over a year and throughout the olympics but once they ended it was gone. I have to pay $9.99 a month to get it back. no more 2 hours early Daily Show or Colbert Report :(
