Last time I checked, cops were human too. Humans make mistakes.

Or are you one of those types that paints all police officers with the same brush? The type that thinks one bad apple spoils the bunch? Grow up.

So this one can't drive. The guy on the bike should have made a complaint instead of a whiney-bitch video that shows how immature he is at the same time.

when someone's tailgating you..i would move to the right lane
if they decide to follow you and stil tailgate...slow down..that'd really piss them off and gives you more room to brake gradually = less chance for them to rear end you. (i remember reading this in the icbc driver's handbook)

the undercover SUV did not need to be so close to the black sedan for such a long time to run the plate..

I guess he was trying to tailgate so that the sedan would speed up, go over the speed limit and hand out another ticket within 10 minutes.. lol..

Reading back through my posts, it probably looks like I'm trying to defend the police officer, as if I somehow can justify them driving in a clearly ignorant manner. Please don't take my responses in that way... I don't think driving that close to anyone, whether it's a cop or otherwise, is a bright idea. But posting a stupid video about it is an even worse idea as all it does is polarize the audience to one extreme or the other (for the cop, or against). That's why I think the video is a dumb idea.

Anyway... on with the show...

That's a good idea...

Entrapment? No one is forcing the sedan to speed.

Unless someone asks the cop who was driving the undercover car... this is a moot discussion.

Tailgating != road rage. You're blowing this out of proportion.

And I've never had a cop do this to me. Maybe those of you who have should examine your driving...
are you Delusional????????

the cop is clearly inches behind the car and braking and gassing multiple times when there is nobody around the 2 except the motorcyclist who is keeping a distance.

and why are you such a COP NUT-HUGGER? let the facts suffice for once and stop defending the actions of irresponsible police officers.

Love how the biker is paranoid about being "followed" down a highway.

I particularly like the "plenty of room to pass" part. uh no, the slow car should move the crap over to the right, hell it shouldn't have been in the left lane to begin with.

The last time I drove through to get to the ferry we were in solid traffic, going about 100 or so, hanging about a meter apart. I know that's a different situation but it seems to be the norm for traffic there so... between that and the amount of time the officer spent close to the car (presumably running the plate) it doesn't seem that bad to me.

Less than 1 line apart on highway speeds.

Yes the slow driver should stay on right lane but it's not illegal to go 80 on the left lane is it? Likewise it's not illegal to tailgate... just a dangerous action done by an officer of the law.

okay, the people who do not consider this tail gating must realize that ICBC and the police preach a 2 second rule when driving on the highway, with the distance the suv is giving the sedan that is probably less than a second.

When a vehicle has to constantly brake to avoid driving his front end up your ass, this distance is most likely TOO DAMN close and thus tail gating.

While I am not one who assumes all cops are assholes (I actually know a few cops and dont have any problems with them), I do think the general public automatically side with the police or do whatever they are told by the police just because they assume the police would never do something wrong or they are always law abiding.

Yes, cops are human and humans make mistakes but there are cases where a regular citizen would get completed screw, the police get away with it.

anyways the cop is clearly tail gating

That cop was just playing with his power over citizens, that simple. A friend of mine got pulled over once and asked the cop if he had broken the law, the cop told my friend that " Im the LAW". so wht do you think? In my opinion, be polite to those good cops make things easier. But if you run into a bad cop and have nothing do to at that time, just fuk with him. Those shady cops are just losers, they cant do shit. The one you should be afraid of is not the cop , is the judge. RCMP hires everyone now, look at their recruit posters. hows this for question, what can i do when i see cops breaking the rules? ie. driving without using a indicator, driving while holding a burger in one hand (i wanted to take a pic using my bb, but figured, if he saw me, he'd just give me a ticket for using my cell)

where can u complain?

many things here being blown out of proportions....

1. no real signs of road raging apparent in that video. impatience for sure.
2. definitely not "inches" away as someone here had exaggerated (highway lines are about 1-1.5x a standard car length)
3. the suv being so far left on the lane clearly indicates they wanted to be noticed in the sedans rear/side view mirrors...

It is common practice in highways to get "closer" to indicate you want to pass. its the cops mistake for assuming someone in this city full of people who thinks the world revolves around them would even understand what that meant.

Call this news?? must have been a slow day.....

haha car being tailgated should of done a brake check and see what the big suv (cop) would do. If the cop smashed into the sedan then wouldnt the cop be charged for tailgating or whatever they call it.
