Land in the right spot, you'll be making almost 20 bucks an hour including wage and tips:p

Look into office jobs (receptionist/office mail boy etc), they usually pay around ~$10+ (depending on experience and the skills you have).

It might be hard to juggle since you're still in school but usually the workload is quite easy and it's rare you'll have to do much physical labour.

car dealerships such as honda and toyota start you off at around 11 an hour

wat about a job with tips? such as valet, server, bellman?

if you work at a hotel as a switchboard operator, you are looking at 12 an hour, then about 15 an hour once you hit front desk.

it really comes down to what you want to do. if you like schmoozing people then become a server. if you want reliable, steady income, then get a job that pays a higher hourly wage.

i currently have 4 jobs

Joey Restaurants (PT) - valet
Sheraton Hotel (PT) - Banquet server
honda (PT) - lot attendant
VANOC (FT) - bus depot workforce crew

from my experience, cash tips are the way to go. you never have to touch your chequeing account for spending cash. with another (or a few other in my case) higher wage paying jobs, this allows for you to never have to withdraw from your bank account while growing it at the same time.

warehouse work for a agency like spherion $11+

MrCrawford 02-25-2010 12:47 AM

Being a junior server at Old Spaghetti factory earns you $14-16 /hour.

Or you can apply to be a student painter.. assuming you are a student. $10-12/hour depending on experience.

10.25 for a youth worker, is that little?

keifun 04-10-2010 12:56 AM

I'd watch out for car rentals...

I used to work for one, most of them are unionized which is why the pay is a bit more. But overall, a lot of them are cutting back on hours for employees.

Pretty standard overall.

Urban fare is Overwaitea(saveonfoods/pricemart/coopers,etc) . my friend has been working as a grocery clerk for Save-on-foods for more than 10 years and is making 25 /hr

P0NYB0Y 05-31-2010 10:39 PM

go to school and you'll earn more. PERIOD.

cody27 06-05-2010 10:25 PM

not sure if i missed it but ya havent really said what your interested in doing, in highschool i was making $13/hr changing oil and tires and my last job i quit before going back to school i was making $16hr spraying bedliners and driving brand new trucks all day which i was happy with considering it wasnt all that difficult

if ya dont mind getting your hands dirty id say drop resumes at some shops, ya dont need much to change oil and tires, i was doing it in gr10/11 and seeing as your out of school ya should be able to pull 8hr days and ya can usually move up from there

jerche 06-06-2010 04:43 PM

i used to work at mercedes and i got started at $14.30/hr for being a lot boy but i was ft...they're probably one of the most generous dealerships around

TypeRNammer 06-08-2010 03:30 PM
