+1 on the crab balls!

winson604 02-22-2010 12:52 AM

Crab balls are always dope. I actually really like the first dish, the one with a variety of stuff especially the jelly fish which is my favorite. When the rock cod comes out it's pretty sick too although you don't get too many pieces.

TRDood 02-22-2010 06:06 AM

i'm in HK now, i have rock cod everyday! <3

it's just so much cheaper and better here.

i never really understand what they meant by HEADS with abalone? the more the better? and what exactly are they looking for

BinsentoW 02-22-2010 09:51 AM

the "gonn seew yee mein" is my favorite.
Cold appetizer plates are good lots of the time too.

I think the smaller the number, the bigger the size.
So 1 head is bigger than 2 heads

q0192837465 02-22-2010 02:33 PM

Basically the unit of measurement is 斤, which is ~ 600 grams. 1 head means there's 1 abalone in 1 斤. 2 head means 2 in 1 斤, which means 300 grams each, so on & so forth.

I love shark fin soup and the crab balls too

6793026 02-22-2010 03:25 PM

1 or two heads are almost gone. it's really rare to find them now.

SkinnyPupp 02-22-2010 04:17 PM

I always enjoy it when the steamed fish comes out, or the chicken if it is really good.

It's funny though, those crab claws and noodles are among my least favourite :lol

Santofu 02-22-2010 04:23 PM

I like the rice dish on top right side with tomato sauce with meat and other side with cream and shrimp. I forgot what is it called but it is good.
I like hot and sour and shark's fin soup.
+1 for crab balls!

You mean this rice?

http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/PDA...VNhi5eYVnAsw/l

It's the Ying Yang rice or some places call it the lovers rice or something along those lines haha. Either way in chinese it's called Yeen Yerng Chow Fan.

The one thing about banquet dinners I find is the chicken is always so sketchy. Sometimes it's dope and sometimes it sucks badly.

SkinnyPupp 02-22-2010 04:33 PM

^^ That is so true. But when you go to a good restaurant and the chicken is good, it is really good. Like "the perfect example of chicken" good

Santofu 02-22-2010 04:36 PM

Yeah that's the one! Thanks.
That's true. Honolulu is pretty nasty. It had MSG, I felt sick after.
But Angel Cake House is good imo!

Werd. When I was younger I used to always look forward to the chicken but not anymore as I got disappointed way too many times. But yes when it's good it's damn good haha. There almost seems to be no middle ground with it though =\

so the less head the bigger the abalone?

RacePace 02-23-2010 07:28 AM

I don't get what the big deal about abalone is, and I would never pay the huge cash restaurants ask for it

[jsx] sky 02-23-2010 07:29 AM

^^yes

Santofu 02-23-2010 06:51 PM

The noodles is called E-Fu noodles or yi mein
also called yee-fu noodles, yi noodles or yifu noodles.

I think the dish is called Braised or Stir-fried E-Fu noodles.
