Dang I was just gonna head out there for the first time to try this epic sandwich shop tomorrow... went to his website and saw this:

"What really happened is that
on July the 4th around 5:30 PM on my way home. I stopped because of the traffic jammed on #1 HWY. and I got rear ended by a Semi truck going at 80 to 90 km/hr with over 140,000.00 lb load. He hit me so hard. it sounded like a big bomb. so my car was pushed from the right lane to the left lane hitting the meridian.I don't know what else happened after that.
God and My Volvo saved my life. it was a total write off and I landed in the hospital.
the hit was so hard it damaged my Aorta.
on July 17 I was in a such pain I thought I was dying. I went to UBC Urgent care centre and the doctor (Dr. Edmonds) would not even let me tell him what was wrong with me. and he told me to go home. on July 20, I was at work with lots of suffering and pain in my chest. all of sudden I started sweating and lots of water covering my face. I told my customers that I am dying. at that moment BC ambulance crew came in for sandwiches instead they shut down my deli and they took me to Surrey General Hospital and from there they took me immediately to Royal Columbian Hospital and doctors were waiting for me in the operation room. and they operated on me for 8.5 hours.. If Bc ambulance crew did not come in at that moment I would have died in less than 2 minutes.
I am recovering at home now, I thought, until Sep. 20th. but my occupational Therapist said I would not be allowed to go to work by than. I have to have the doctor permission first. Terrible noise in my ears all the time. loosing my balance. back pain. neck grinding.
But I still love life more than ever.

He used to be there until the landlord jacked the rent. That's why he closed up. HE is quite the character.

He seems alive and well! He was talking about how he got some black girl licking his asshole and shit AHAHAHAHAH!

I'm just really glad he is O.K.

He almost died if it were not for two EMT's stopping by his shop for some sandwich's.

I called him a couple months ago and got his voice message, it was pretty funny I can't remember exactly but it was something along the lines of:
"I'm tired of waiting for these stupid doctors to give me permission to work so if you hear this voicemail then I am most likely working!

He started working only Fridays & Saturdays, like 3 hours each day cuz he was still getting physically tired from his recovery process (gotta admire his work ethic) ...

I just went to his website now and it seems like he's feeling much better now:

Sad news, though. I enjoy going and have always meant to volunteer for his E.Van outings. Might have to do that this December seeing as that's really going to be the only chance I'm ever going toget now.

Aww damn that's sad to hear ... but it'll be better for him to recover and keep up his health if he rests more.
I been there once before, he was EXTREMELY nice, he closed at 3:00pm but I got there at 3:30, he was still in the shop and he opened the door to let me in to order. We chatted a bit and he gave me so many samples that I was almost full already before I got my sandwich!
It wasn't the "best" deli sandwich I've ever had but hot damn it was HUGE and a great deal!... I could literally split it up and re-build 3 more regular sandwiches with it lol ...

Must make a mental note to re-visit him before he closes for good!
