Pursue school. If you really love your girl and envision sharing your life with her, whatever you reap with what career you get out of this will be shared between you and her. If she is smart enough to realize this and she KNOWS she loves you ( NOT FEELS that she love you ), she would be willing to stick with you, through the struggles, thick and thin, when all your chips are down... you know how it goes.

This is a great test if you guys are meant to be together. Better to encounter hurdles and separate than when you guys are married with kids and divorce. Word to Grant_P and Ulic's posts.

at your age and can't choose b/w your future career or a girl?? I find that pretty sad.

This is a no brainer... obviously go to TO so at least you are guaranteed to have a better future in terms of income (that's if you're able to grad) than if you were stay and go through the risk of loosing your girlfriend maybe after a couple yrs

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but why don't you apply for rehab school to become a physiotherapist? There is a 2.5 year program at UBC and it's pretty much along the same lines as a Chiro, except better in my opinion. No you won't get the designation as "Doctor", but really chiro's are not MDs, so it doesn't matter. I personally prefer Physios because they are university trainned... programs are all over Canada, whereas Chiros have their "own college", which i find kind of strange. Also, Physios are more known/used as there are no Chiros in hospitals, only Physios. Physio is a Masters program and the pay will be great if you work private ($50/patient, few patients per hour).
Not to mention, you can still do your phD in rehab after you complete your Masters, then you will be "Doctor"!
This way, at least you can still do what you love (which is rehab), and stay with your gf! I hope you will look into it. I, myself is a nurse and my bf is a physiotherapist, so let me know if you have any questions =) Good luck!

only thing is the physio program is pretty competitive... and the OP has a guaranteed acceptance to chiropractic school... so that should be factored in..

i personally think physio > chiro and usually recommend physio's over chiros... but it's a matter of personal preference I guess

Hey guys,

Thanks a lot for your replies. Your feedback was great and I really appreciate it. I wish I had enough thank you's to go around.

I've decided to accept the offer for schooling in Toronto. We are going to try the LD thing. And she said she would move down with me after her program is over. As there are lots of opportunities back east anyways.

Now, I just need to find a place to stay and off we go.

Thanks again RS!
